I only get warez versions of games in order to test them, so I can decide for myself whether a game is worth buying (reviews are subjective and some times even not to be trusted.) So this could actually backfire. People will then not buy it, since the warez version lacks a FOV slider, heh.

I did neither pirate the game or plan on buying it, but well... if they put an equal amount of time into properly making a game and releasing it bugfree with all options, a lot of paying customers wouldn't think about turning to piracy for crappy games they produce. Just my opinion though.

And please for the love of all that is good can they please make Uplay better than then stinking pile of stuff it is now.
Can they please just remove Uplay as EA should remove Origin and get the games available trough Steam instead. Every stupid company comes with their own stupid little **** app these days, god forbid that you see another publishers games! WTF?!

Patched in huh? Then it's not even Ubisoft doing the talking. It's high-quality-journalism polygon putting words into their mouth. They really should stick to writing about boobs instead.

Actually uplay is the main reason I'm not buying Ubisoft games anymore. Also, it's only PC gamers having to suffer from such sub-par platforms. Even at the best times I have never went above 3/10 for Origin if it asked me if I'd be likely to recommend Origin to a friend. Usually it's the lowest rating I go for (don't know if it's 0 or 1). But if games themselves are crap, even the best platform doesn't help. The biggest joke are games that Ubisoft releases on Steam, just to let you download and install uplay in addition to it. I felt BS'ed with Heroes of Might and Magic.

sorry for you UBI... it work fine  due to coding i guess that there is some innocent who have FOV disabled too lol *Edit* you can have UBI game on Origin too 🙂 ok i shut up lol

Yeah, no idea why they HAVE to throw their launcher app into our face, must be some incompetent CEO's idea. Same can be said for a lot of other companies like Blizzard, Glyph and so on. None of them seems to understand that things can be so much easier with one unified launcher app (Steam or better) instead of that every one needs to have their own stupid thing. Not to talk about their digital download prices.... how many do still buy them keys directly from the companies these days when you can get the same keys a lot cheaper (up to 50% !!!) from resellers that bought a whole bulk of them?

Uplay is annoying like hell, because it pops out some stupid windows for uploading videos to Youtube. FU Ubisoft, i don't want to do that.

Lol, and if you play borderless screen you dont have the FOV slider.

I used to be a pirate like you, but then I took a Steam sale in the knee. Now, seriously, if you think the game is expensive now, just wait for it to be on sale or until next year, when it'll be half the price. Easy as that!

Who cares, let them play with no FOV. It gives eye seizures playing like that.

Wow, they really showed them, huh! Except the fun part is, that this was a leaked, early release version of the game, that missed the slider. The statement, that the slider was "patched out" is wholly incorrect. The slider wasn't there from the start, and was patched IN. Even "legal" version 1.0 did not have one. Which means, there is NO difference, between "pirated" and "legal" version, excluding online features. The difference is an illusion made up by Ubisoft as a clever damage control. The patched, 1.03 version (day one patch, go figure), does indeed have it. Even "pirated" versions. The leaked version had a lot of bugs regarding AA and lighting. TXAA didn't work at all, it just put the entire scene into fullbright, HBAO darkened everything to the point that no indirect lightning was present, and so on. And yes, there was no FOV slider. But that is only because this was a lazy console-port version, since consoles apparently have no need for FOV adjust. So to put the record straight, this is a PR campaign, used to turn the attention away from the fact, that the early release version 1.0 was unfinished, buggy, unplayable and a sub-par console port. And you people eat it up like free lunch. Everyone, who blames piracy for the current state of gaming industry, is either ignorant, or a publisher PR employee. The staggering amount of low-quality, subpar, unfinished products is caused the perception of consoles as a "piracy free medium". So yes, enjoy your "piracy free utopia", where the devs/publishers cannot be realistically punished by the market for releasing such products. You get what you deserve. And how the hell does this make "pirates" feel guilty? How does this put anyone to shame except Ubisoft? If you omit the word "pirate", it is Ubisoft admitting they messed up! But add the word "pirate" and suddenly it is a brilliant tactical maneuver, full of modern-day satire? What the hell? PS: Notice how other "high quality" games, like dev tycoon (which is itself a blatant ripoff), and Serious Sam: BFE (next to which SS1 looks like a masterpiece), Sims 4 (which is well, Sims 4), tend to pull these kind of "anti-piracy" stunts?
The game was released, on the same day a patch was released, so the people who actually bought the game had a good working version from the get go. Your logic is skewed.

I only steal cars to see if I like the way they drive(I don't trust other peoples reviews). I only break into houses to see if I like the way they're designed on the inside(Some people decorate horribly). I take food I didn't pay for because I wanted to make sure I can accept the taste or not.(Wouldn't want something nasty in my mouth.) There was ever no way pirating a game could help the developers or the sales of the game. It's the exact opposite. It never has been, and never will be. There is no right justification to pirating software, ever. Either support the developers by buying their application, or just don't touch it. Admitting though, developers should push more demos out... It's patched in, but there really isn't stopping the warez communities from cracking this patch and putting it in.... Ubisoft likes to place blame on everyone else for problems, but are not willing to face their own problems. Uplay!

There was a time when I was young and dumb and I pirated games like 8 years a go. I never enjoyed them never ever no matter how good the game was (must be guilt). And well now I do my research and if so I will buy from steamsales for 5€ or whatnot if the game isn't a MUST HAVE NOW! thing. In ye olden days when there were loads of demos it was easy to test stuff out. But now nah not really. And it is hard to trust game journalists tbh so many different sources gives a bit more clearer picture. And pirating hurts the industry as whole and of course our beloved pc market suffers from it a lot, I wouldn't want to dev a game for pc in the least if I knew it will be pirated to hell and back. But I am going to guess ubi is blaming legit customers here too.

Polygon reported that Ubisoft is taking a smear out of software pirates by disabling FOV control on illegal downloaded versions of Far Cry 4. A good number of players are complaining online about the ... Ubisoft Taunts Software pirates with missing FOV control in Far Cry 4
Fantastic. However I feel its better to deploy the entire AI on the cloud. This way the game just wont function without logging in to Uplay. Also the place I live Ubisoft sells FC4 for $30 this is considerably lower than EU/US. This really help people here afford it.

If ubisoft fixes their **** pirates would never be a problem.
Not even remotely true.

As much as I dislike pirates, This kind of stun from ubisoft only confirms that they immature, lazy and greedy. If ubisoft fixes their **** pirates would never be a problem.
**** or not, no body has the right to touch another persons **** for free.

Uplay has caused a lot of issues for tons of people. I am not sure why is Ubisoft still trying to push it. Friends on steam are regretting that they bought an Ubisodt game that requires Uplay. They wont be buying one anytime soon when i spoke with them. Also does anyone know if Ubisoft will be incorporating uplay into older games that did not have the service? If so that will really mess up with some of the older titles that people have from Steam that they will want to play.
