Well all of these particular keys were bought with stolen credit cards so Ubisoft have come out & said. So whoever had a key can probably expect a knock on the door 😉 .
Bad joke, lol.
A number of keys were purchased from EA's Origin using falsified credit card information and resold. Using information provided by EA regarding the matter at hand, Ubisoft have revoked the keys that were bought fraudulently from Origin and then resold through vendors like Kinguin and G2A. Unfortunately, when purchasing from unauthorised third-party retailers you can sometimes get burned, but if you contact the company you purchased the game from they should help you resolve the issue.

Somehow this looks more like Ubisoft is on a Witch-hunt.... Reason is the response I got from their support team. They wrote that activation keys were recently purchased under shady circumstances, but nothing about that the keys I got where bought under the mentioned circumstances. They also wrote that keys bought under these circumstances might have been deactivated, not that they have been deactivated, which leads me to believe that the staff responsible for examining the keys in question even might have banned completely legal keys, neither all the shady keys.

That's an amazing comment, respect to Kinguin there. Wonder if UBISoft themselves didn't send the "afflicted" keys out in secret for Far cry and AC, seems like ridiculous amounts that need to be refunded like an attempt to saturate and slowly infect the key market and if didn't go well they just disable those keys...

I thought EA had been selling Ubisoft games on Origin for a while now, i've even bought a few Steamworks games during a Origin sale.
Yeah, I found out a bit later that they had pulled them off their site.

So a mysterious russian guy is the cause of this all. 3400 merchants affected, that really is disturbing tbh

I went ahead and rebought my FC4 Season Pass key straight from Ubisoft store, I will also avoid cjs-cdkeys from now on, simply because they proved to be **** at customer support. I couldn't go trough all their screenshoting/proofing bull**** on an issue that is by now widely known all over the web just to get another banable key in the end at best.

I have some suggestions: 1. Don't buy bad games. There are some good games around, so if you have some free time, it's better to spend it with some quality games. 2. Avoid preorders. They drive the prices up, and you may get a lousy game (eg Alien: Colonial Marines). You're just shoving the money at the publisher, supporting the pricing and lack of quality assurance. There are some exceptions, when you're really appreciating the price and you're sure about the quality and you want to support the developer/publisher. 3. Stop buying expensive games. You may think that voting with wallet doesn't work with today's economy, but it does. There are some examples, like Poland. People over weren't buying expensive games and the piracy level was absurd. But now the piracy levels are low and games sell well. How did it happen? One of the publishers came up with an idea to try selling games for around 10€ and it was a huge success. Now, the PC games cost around 30€ on the release day (sometimes even around 20€), compared to the 60€ typical price tag commonly found in the rest of Europe. Console games cost more, but still, I can see a price drop. 4. If a game is really good and you're going to spend a lot of time with it, it may be worth paying some extra price, but only in such case. a good example that I can provide is Starcraft 1. Despite being really expensive for people in Poland at that time, and an easy way to get around protection + access to pirate servers, I know some players for whom it was the first legit game they bought. 5. If you can get the game at a better price, get it at better price as long as it's legit. What's the point of paying extra? For some reason, boxed copies over here are cheaper than on Steam/Origin/UPlay, despite extra manufacturing, distribution, and reseller fees. So why would I want to buy that game directly from the publisher if they want extra $$$?

You do realize that games sold on G2A are sold by regular people and not the site itself?
Even then if a site is used by greedy rtard sellers, who thought that ridiculously low prices are absolutely legit, the site itself is not trustworthy for me. But respect to Kinguin for refunding.

Sometime people doing business take calculated risks, sometimes like in this case it hurts their own wallet while sometimes the outcome is good. **** like this happens even with what people agree to call legal business. Until FC4 I never had any issues with keys purchased trough their site, and G2A will refund as well btw.

Just got my money back from G2A and a 5 Euro discount on my next buy. So it took only 4 days to get it sorted out. Heck, there are real publishers out there who don't give a **** if they mess up, seen cases of some that don't even bother to refund, they just play the silent game. And some of you people wonder why others buy from third party dealers...

You guys are lucky, I still haven't seen any refund from cjs-cdkeys... they replied (slowly) and said that they contacted their "supplier" and await some sort of response from him before even thinking about a refund. Whatever, lesson learned, at least it wasn't a big sum I've lost.
