Maybe its improved fsr2.2 it could look decent. If you dont like it play native resolution as it looks best anyway.

No dlss, no buy. Amd supported titles has Fsr/Fsr2 only NVidia supported titles has both dlss and fsr/fsr2. "Strange"
Normally people buy a game to enjoy the game, not only to enjoy twiddling with the settings. Or perhaps you'd get it only for benchmarking? A Bethesda title doesn't seem good for that purpose. If Nvidia sports an 85% market share, at worst 80%, it doesn't need to care awfully much, especially when DLSS usually offers better quality. On the other hand, FSR can be enabled also on Nvidia cards, so you don't get lesser quality than an AMD card owner would get, just the same. If it was a DLSS only game, AMD owners couldn't enable anything, which is obviously a much bigger deal than an Nvidia owner needing to settle for FSR. With both available, Nvidia owners will use DLSS and get better quality, AMD owners can use FSR, as their only option.

The solution to no DLSS is a 4090 Time to pick up extra shifts at McDonald's

What concerns me is the fact that on Console, with FSR, they are still planning to lock the frames to 30fps. I don't except this game to perform well in general lol.

Doesn't FSR work on Nvidia cards?
it works on any card.

So this ancient engine needs FSR2 to work ''fine'' on consoles, but still with only 30fps.. Oh my, the performance on 4k/ultra will be *amazing* on PC, 4090/12900k combo might not be enough lol

1) dlss and fsr are crap and designed to make you think you have a decent card, but you don't if you can't play at native. the artefacting is bad 2) don't ever buy hardware based on software gimmicks, the software comes and goes the hardware is far longer lasting 3) to paraphrase The Brady Bunch "marketing, marketing, marketing"

Maybe FSR3? No?

DLSS, XeSS and FSR are the future of anti-aliasing.

in the minds of Nvidia and AMD more is more, less is less when i buy Shinola i'm not wanting shite

Kaarme:

AMD CPU optimisation is better than Intel optimisation, because Intel optimisation basically means relying on super high clocks. AMD optimisation shouldn't particularly hurt Intel CPU owners, though those with the topmost models might not get everything out of their CPUs. But then again, it's a Bethesda game, so too high fps might break it anyway.
You are talking about CPU optimization itself, while the article is about software optimization targeted for particular platform (both CPU and GPU).

If there is FSR2 there will be DLSS via mod. And my god, anyone who doesnt understand that DLSS, hardware TAAU, is the future of rendering at this point? WOW. Talk about being wrong.

Foot gun bullet? PC sector is so screw up now

...and you bought AMD gpu's...

BLEH!:

Both consoles run on AMD hardware, so it makes sense.
You'd think so but often it seems that for PC ports, Intel+Nvidia gets much more optimized. I would imagine that if a game were well-optimized for consoles, that ought to translate to AMD PCs, but that usually doesn't seem to be the case. I particularly blame Windows drivers, since AMD's Linux drivers often outperform the Windows drivers and they don't have any application-specific profiles.

They can increase performance by lowering image quality a bit but the problem is they are being used to justify overpriced gimped cards and poorly coded games

Cannot believe all the Gurus here shilling for upscalers when I thought everyone would be cheering for full metal native GPU rendering! Gonna wait for the GOTY version and RTRT 4K 120 FPS patch!

emperorsfist:

Great, so it's "optimised" to use the shittiest of mostly shitty upscalers. Lovely. Does that mean they know that main game is going to run poorly out the door?
Games running poorly isn't the fault of the hardware maker, but the software vendor!

Native rendering clearly means moving towards 750 Watt GPUs, you want that?

I thought PC games in general ran at native 4K compared to their console counterparts?
