If the quality of FSR is same as in Dying Light 2, I have no issue with that. In that game, perf was same as DLSS and the image quality was arguably better - more natural. At least to me. Lets see before we lit the torches... For those who cant handle this, Im sure modders will provide DLSS on day one. With possibly worse quality than FSR, but who cares, when the naming is the sweet DLSS poison I guess. Btw I write this as nVidia owner.

Funny, I have never seen FSR beat DLSS and TechSpot tested FSR vs DLSS in like 20+ games and DLSS won in the majority, a few were draw but FSR did not win in a single one. I want DLSS and DLAA in Starfield for sure. I tend to use DLAA most of the time.

Just play it native. If you have a 4080/4090 it should run fine or you are afraid that 1200$ gpu cant handle it? :P

Doesn't FSR 2.0 work on Nvidia GPUs? If done right, what's the problem? Seems to me anyone who is like "won't play unless it has DLSS" is only doing so out of principle.

Directx 8 was released back in 2000. I think the first card to support it was the Geforce 3.series. If i remember correctly Max Payne was one of the first big game to support it. Fun non-sarcastic fact: going into space does actually affect the eyes of astronauts, just not color vision lol. For one thing, it is common for them to report seeing flashing lights, even when their eyes are closed. This is (as far as I'm aware) the same kind of radiation that causes bit flips and warrants the need of ECC, except it's just a lot more common in space. Also, the fluid pressure within their eyes changes quite a bit on the ISS.

I meant the pipeline from The Creation Engine '2', which has it's coding pipeline roots in DX8. I didn't do enough research, but enough before I posted my comment. As for my avatar, it is not an avatar, but a work of art on my walls roughly 3ftx3ft that I own the rights to. Consider yourself lucky to even see it here on these forums, because only my close friends, family and associates have seen it IRL. *ninja edit; I can smell the lootboxes and leather jackets all over this 'game'.

Its subjective though. Some people find thay TAAU is better, some find FSR better, and some find FSR or XeSS better. It also depends on the game, its art style, and the devs implementation. Heck some simply hate any form of upscaling and can see the differences. I personally can't stand FSR1 at any level, and DLSS FG is basically unusable for me, the ghosting, trails, blurriness, and latency is simply unplayable. I have only found Darktide and one other game (cant remember the name of it) where the latency was playable FOR ME. Like I said its subjective, much like graphics and art style are. One mans trash is another mans treasure.
