I thought it died long time ago.

I am surprised that it was killed "so lately" for being a google product. To be honest, I am sad for all those players having purchase games on those platforms seeing accounts vanished and for those devs that wasted time and resources to adapts their games to that non-sense of google thing.

It is not all doom and gloom, we still have Onya to fall back on. Lol

Good thing you can ask refunds for the controllers, chromecast and game you bought.

Next up: Netflix shuts down it's "games" department.

Before the Stadia released I actually asked if the controllers can be used like Xbox One controllers on PC, and the person on the official twitter account responded with yes...... long story short no they cannot.

Took em a while with all the input lag.

gee who would thought streaming gaming would fail, the input alone is enough to make say never

A complete dumpster fire of a business model, that made no sense, and every alternative was better... who could have seen that failing? Fuck Google.

They actually shut down Stadia last year but the input lag just caught up with it now. 😉

On other hand it is logical... -huge lag -high price -few game -branded "google" (most people hate google exept american lol) and so more worse thing

I can use my Stadia controller on the PC without a problem, connected via USB cable.

Can it connect via Bluetooth? once it released I was told it does not work. If it does then that's pretty cool, at least it's not plastic waste.

And... no one cares anyway. So, just move along everyone.

I never really understood why Google bothered with this in the first place. I could see how maybe the unused systems could use their processing power for number crunching but I think the amount of development time they'd put into this wouldn't pay off.

I see it as one of those situations where Google was living in their own bubble and didn't realize how unrealistic their goal was outside of it. If you were connected to Google Fiber then perhaps the latency was tolerable. Most of us aren't connected to that, and those who are probably make enough money to just buy their own gaming system.

In other related news, humans still need oxygen to live. Googles idea of stadia is to give a worse product for more money, less security and more inconvenience. It is a perfect example of a higher up in management making decisions without knowing anything about the market.
