We have had 10Gbps Fiber connection for home consumers for a little while allready here in Norway

It's available in urban areas here too. Only it's expensive as sh*t, and doesn't help the missing of good content availability. 🙄

I only have 10mbps... but it's free.
Hyperoptic are putting 1Gbps FTTP into major cities now though, it's already in London I believe and according to a letter I received a few days back it will shortly will be rolled out to my building in Manchester @ £30pm for 1gbps.

Wish my ISP would think about raising speeds. my phone speed is faster atm then my fibre optics connection at home.

Interesting, £30 you say I will be speaking to hyperoptic, Im currently with them and have the 1gb service in London, Im paying £45 a month atm, with them. 🙂

Here in canada all i can get is 10mbps which only ends up being 7-8 mbps and 100gb cap and still pay 75$ for it wich is around 70$usd

I've got the option to upgrading to a 1Gbps connection, but it costs 230$ a month.. I think i'll just stick with my free 75/75Mbps fiber optic connection for now 🙂 Might consider upgrading to 300 or maybe 500Mbps wich is lesser than half the price than 1Gbps.

shame my computer lan port can only do 1Gbps lol.

Meanwhile in UK, city Derby I pay 35 GBP for a 10mb line with 1.3mb/s max download. While some people pay 10$ for 100mb line. This is just unfair and rediculous. And best part is no matter what I don't even have any other option here. Internet through phone line is the only option, price is a ripoff, and this is UK.
Meanwhile one friend I have from Latvia, says in their country which is 100 times poorer then UK, they have 500mb lines for 15$.
Am I missing something here? I have money, jet no matter what I do I can't get a product I want. Fantastic, 21 century UK. Bravo!

I'll bet with bandwidth like that, we could be streaming full 2160p at 60 fps like it was nothing...
That's pretty good in a lot of areas other than big cities. I max out at 2.1 mb/sec and 200 kb/sec upload, completely un-capped. I can get faster service (not that much faster though) but there doesn't seem to be a reason I'd need to at the moment.
My phone has faster internet (which is really silly to me) and I rarely ever use that speed other than checking emails, weather and news.
People in cities complaining about their already pretty good speed could use a little time in the sticks to appreciate their bandwidth more. 🙂

7GB/month cap means you can't download ****..... That sucks.
fantaskarsef
Uhm... I get 20Mbps down and 2 up for 20€ per month. Thankfully it's "fair use" (as in unlimited), because I hit the 40-50GB WITHOUT downloading, only through gaming and SKYPE.

15mbps here and it's $40/month. The USA is quite poor on internet speeds and pricing compared to the other "luxuries" we have and take for granted. 🙁

Wow, just scratching my head. In Nigeria 1GB internet data cap at speed of 1mbps cost $22 per month. My country a village in the internet scheme of things

It's depressing that USA can't reliably give 100mbs at a reasonable price. I can't even get 50mbs reliably.

I don't even know how fast my Comcast is supposed to be. I think the theory speed is 25mbps.
The fastest downloads I see are from Steam or Origin...maybe 4mb per second, usually drops down to 3 after a while.

I pay $60 for 75/75 but I often get closer to 90/90 in NJ but that's also with TV package.
