yeah seems a bit overpriced for an "old" standard PSU, but the TX series is a really good one, I have the small brother TX 850 (price was 250€) and is running 24/7 for 20 months now, all works as it should 🙂

As much as i like Seasonic, i'm not impressed with their fans. It's why i sold my TX-850 last year and bought the Fanless TX-700.
I could hear the fan over my system fans (yes, that's how quiet my PC is set up).

Yeah, I agree, would have considered buying a Seasonic PSU since I've never had issues with them. But for that price, I expect it to be up to date...

As for the native ATX 3.0 from the Seasonic - I already received the Vertex 1000. It's much cheaper than the Prime series.

I like the RoG Thor Seasonics as they add a better cooling solution over standard ones and also better larger fans. The 1200w one needs a monster machine to even get the fan spinning at all.
Even my 850w one is so silent i can't even hear when it's running or not. Then add in a 10-12 year Warranty and you get peace of mind. I don't care much for the Oled screen but it's handy for seeing power usage.
By engaging the rear-mounted 0dB switch, the Wing-blade fan stops completely when temperatures are low. I'm not sure which temp it has to reach before the fan spins up but it's high i know that much, this feature means the fan will last a lot longer than normal too.
BTW 230V EU internal non-redundant efficiency is 94% 96% 94% which is amazing, running this psu @50% results into a 96% efficiency rating. Doesn't get much better than that.

And benefits of ATX3 and PCIe 5 "native" are..... ? I can't think of a single one besides 16pin cable being in the box. Nvidia sold how many RTX 40 cards now, maybe 300k? 99.99% of them running perfectly fine on "old" PSUs.
I would only "upgrade" to such PSU if mine was like 10 year old and on a brink of giving out. People who are replacing their perfectly fine 1, 2, 3 year old PSUs are mad.

Excellent quality. More than enough power for a high end system. Currently running a i9 13900k and 4090 system and hasn't broken a sweat. Fan is extremely quiet and won't switch on unless there is a high system load.

The benefits of buying a very expensive PSU with old standards are.....? In general, when I buy new hardware, it does not make sense to not go for new standards, at least not for me.
And my current PSU is from 2015. With a new build, I will upgrade it, simply because I don't even want to take a single day's chance to have a headache because of transition spikes. My 2080Ti probably never challanged my PSU in the way that a new one would.
But thank you for your consideration of my future buying decision 🙂

Problem with new ATX3 PSUs is that they dont have enough EPS/PCI-e connectors unless you use nvidia RTX 4000 GPUs. They add new 12VHPWR but cut on rest.
For me 6 EPS/PCI-e connectors is pure minimum and anything less is no buy. 3x PCI-e for GPU, 2x EPS for CPU and 1x 6pin PCI-e for USB power delivery.
Choices here are pretty limited, Seasonic Prime, MSI (noisy AF)....

I have to replace my current PSU (Seasonic SS600HT). It gives some troubles. Are the cables of the Seasonic Prime GX-850 (EU – Nehterlands) individually sleeved cables? I saw pictures on the seasonic.com page and the cables are bouned/ flat together and in this review they are not 🙂. Please let me know and Thank you!
