Is it just me, or did they not plan how to exhaust the hot air outside the case?
It's just you, the back bracket is just an illusion 😀

Give us the Nitro+++ version.

I always used to think cards would exhaust some of the hot air out of the case via the back bracket, but upon closer inspection there are a whole lot of cards that may have a back bracket with vent like openings, yet the fins of the cooling element don't actually allow air to flow in that direction. It's as common as it's bizarre.

Ive had all my GPUs under water right back to the NV 7800gtx (a dreadful card to be honest), ive never thought about GPU air cooling and hot air exhaust.

The heat sink has the fins arranged in a way that it wouldn't allow any air to get exhausted out. That said, one should have a well ventilated case because 300W being dumped inside will toast really fast! PS: I wish Santa would drop one for me!

Its because once the heat is airborne and you actually have fans in your case it is removed extremely quickly so not some silent or SFF builds. People underestimate how well heat is removed from the air inside the average PC case.

Thirsty for 6800XT but 6800 also seems good. Will be happy with either card.

Personally i think the 6800 looks a lot more interesting that the 6800XT.

Because it's under 600$ 😉 I try to never spend over 500ish $ USD on my PC components. I could see the 6800 going on sale for 550-560$ USD somewhere in the middle of next year. That make it very temping for me. 6800XT and 3080 will simply remain out of reach for what i want to spend even on sale.

I see, Well, both look like good performers. Can't go wrong with the 6800.

Benchmarks will have to be done to determine this, but the exact reason i am not interested in the 5800, non-XT, is the fact it's more expensive then the 3070. Sure, has more ram, but if the additional ram doesn't help performance, it's meaningless, and if it's not that much more powerful then the 3070, and in fact if it's quite a bit less powerful then the 3070 is ray tracing, i see no point to the card. If it was the same price as the 3070, and being faster on average, but slower in ray tracing, i could then see the point of the card.

Even the 2080ti helps having more vram in doom eternal vs 3070. You blindly refusing to accept something reviewers already said. This time next year 3070 will be absolete and nvidia will respond with 3070ti while 16gb 6800 will live on.

Sorry i dont believe what isn't there? Facts are facts dude. Does the 3070 lose out to the 2080 ti in Doom eternal? Yes, sometimes not always and has been attributed to the fact that the 3070 has 448GB/s bandwidth whereas the 2080 ti has 616GB/s bandwidth. Doom eternal likes memory bandwidth, this is known already, if the RTX 3070 had the same or faster bandwidth, Doom eternal would likely run faster on the 3070. Hence the reason why the 2080 with the same 448GB/s and 8GB of memory is quite a bit slower then the 3070 still. Memory bandwidth. I'm sure you'll come up with some reason as to why this isn't true, so, instead of making make believe as you have been doing: Get yourself a 2080 ti, cripple it to have the exact same memory bandwidth as the 3070, run the tests and see for yourself.

If the Non-XT 6800 is actually going to be obtainable when it's released, and the 3070 still isn't in three weeks, the price point difference will be mute. According to some benchmark, the 6800, which turned out to be the rumoured card between 2080Ti and 3080-performance, has better (non-DLSS) RT-performance than the 3070 without DLSS:

So if that turns out to be true, than the 6800 is faster than the 3070 in everything except when using DLSS.

According to slides, the 6800non-XT has the same memory bandwith as the 3070, but twice as much of an amount, and this Infinity Cache which oughts to improve the effective bandwith. So here you go, reasons to be interested in the 6800. On the other hand, it's not much cheaper than the much better 6800XT, so there is one reason not to be...

Yeah, I think the 6800XT is the biggest competition for the 6800 - not the 3070. I mean the 2070 super was $100 more expensive than the 5700XT, had the same amount of memory and a performance advantage that is, at best, in the low single digits on average. The 6800 is $80 more expensive than the 3070, has twice the amount of memory and a performance advantage in the double digits on average. There's got to be some very niche edge cases to argue in favor of the 3070, assuming pricing/availability/performance holds true obviously. Though why you wouldn't pay an extra $70 for a 6800 XT at that point is a more difficult question.

I think blower coolers are going the way of the floppy drive. While they exhaust out the back of the case, they're just not able to cool as much as the open air coolers, and they're noisier in general.
