And it'll be so expensive for the next five years itll most likely fall to the wayside by then. Hows their "Quatnum Dot" working out in comparison to OLED...... Yeah not good. So its a bit brighter, but they dont need to be much brighter as opposed to having better black levels.... I see this tech being quite a few years out from real consumerism and by that time OLED will have cornered the market for sure!
I agree.. I'll keep my Plasma with 3D.. No reason to buy a new tv.

I still don't really see a huge benefit of buying a new tv. I have a 46" Samsung from probably 5-6 years ago. It still looks great, it's 120 "hz", it's 1080p. Cable still isn't above 1080i yet. IIRC most of it is 720p.

granted to all above commentary that it will be expensive and limited release first 3-5 years, but the tail always wags the dog in tech

quantum dot - now micro led basically its just marketing name imo do we see real improvement on quantum dot ? barely, except in specific situation now micro led with 150" display... no body cares the pixel at that size heck even above 40" people already dont care about their TV pixel as they not seeing any pixel at the watch range for color reproduction, dont think it will improved whatsoever either so for most consumer, basically it only means for lower electric usage
It is marketing but quantum dot(filters) and micro led's(pixels) refer to two different things entirely. What this is exactly like is OLED except it's using inorganic materials to make the pixel stack. This would have been called ILED if Samsung's marketing didn't come up with micro led, albeit I bet that changes before they hit the market.

Give me better black levels and HDR at a reasonable price. IDGAF what you call it.

Also quantum dot tech wasn't supposed to replace OLED, only be a step up from regular LCD until OLED matured.
