The question is more if all / most monitors brands support it, is Nvidia will finally need to support it... Because we speak about Nvidia, but im pretty sure Intel is too largely interested on supporting the new VESA standard and to develop their own "frame sync" method for their driver. On monitor brands, i think allready Samsung, LG, Dell, HP, Benq, Eizo and other pro brands, and surely Apple ( for their Imac ) are allready working on monitors with it or are really interested.
Why should they need to support it? I don't see any real reason... they might as well play it over their GPUs being faster / more quiet / cooler, with Gsync as a hefty price tag extra, even if every brand has got a freesync monitor. Like 'If you want to have Nvidia GPUs and variable framerate, then you have to buy Gsync or leave it' pretty much sounds like my idea of NVs business plan 🙂 When would you think the sales of Fsync would diminish?

how do you get 144 fps in ACU with 1 gtx 980 ???
144HZ The notion that you need 144fps at 144hz is really incorrect, even 60fps at 144hz is considerably more clear than 60fps at 60hz. Just from personal experience. Yes clarity/smoothness or whatever you want to call it improves as fps raises, but its not like you wouldn't get a 144hz screen because you can't achieve 144fps. Don't play ACU, don't like the Assassin's Creed series much. Reminds me of cod. :infinity:

At 60 FPS my monitor would handle frames no smoother than yours with 144Hz. So yeah 144Hz is nearly pointless. Now if you said gsync I would agree.
If you don't own or have seen a 144hz monitor in action then its impossible to make that judgement. I did say Clearer also, meaning you can see everything better when in motion... :3eyes: This is improved at 144hz no matter the frame rate (except below 50 or so fps i'd say). Its something you have to see for yourself, like g-sync. :bang:

Can get the monitors now from iiyama, only snag is, you have to pay to send them to Germany, so they can update them 😀

Yeah thats the one, theres a thread on the forums about it, the free upgrade to FreeSync, isn't really free, as you have to pay to send the monitor to Germany, so they can do it. :P
