The 256MB model will do 2500 MB/s for reads and 1500 MB/sec for writes.
I assume this was meant to be GB and not MB. 😀 (Sounds like a good SSD, I would need a motherboard with a m.2 slot though or use one of those PCI-E connector boards and seeing the price for newer SSD models a 256MB version would probably still be pretty expensive. :P )

Okay that's it for me, no more news items in the early morning before I had my coffee ... 🤓

Hang on, I thought NVMe needed a new connection!??? Will this just connect to any current M.2 connection that uses PCIe 3.0 and work? (I know some use SATA like the mSATA connections).

NVME is a protocol that needs to be supported by the motherboard for sure, it might result into lower transfer speeds if not NVME enabled.

I was hoping for a 1TB version on release. Lame. The wait continues.

Just go ahead and take my money...

I've sworn never to buy Samsung products but it's hard to resist with products like that. I may just buy that Intel 750 along with an asus hyper kit. Would love to see some comparative benchmarks!

Aside from the purchase price, you need to also buy a Skylake system if you want full speeds on M.2. Older M.2 slots do not have the PCIe lane allocation to support the specifications of this product. DMI 3.0 is one of the very few bonuses that come with the Skylake Platform. And with Skylake comes that DDR4 at CAS15 to save a tiny trickle of power.
ehhh... x99 motherboards have supported this since day 1, it has nothing to do with skylake...

This would work with my Asus z97 deluxe? What about sli 980ti that runs in 8x would that be affected by this ssd? Never used an m2 ssd.
yep, your cpu only has 16 lanes so one of your cards will step down to x4 to give another x4 to this ssd, and I don't think it will perform that good using sata express that's using pcie 2.0 and only 2 lanes I think but, I have seen HH test sli cards at x4 x8 and x16 and they show minimal perf difference if any

I actually starting visited websites to debunk that but now see vendors provided motherboard updates to finally support NVMe on X99 between Jan and April. Learn something new every day. With that I would say its a winner for X99 because it counters the pathetic CAS DDR4 timings by being quad channel.
Wait, so AFAIK my board has a M.2 slot and it received NVMe support via Bios update. Is my board not going to work with these 950's? Is there a site where I can see compatibility for stuff like this?

Pretty uber SSD. But where are the Sata Express SSDs, we been getting that interface for couple of gens now, but i dont see those ssds hit the market.
