1st πŸ˜€ really looking forward to this review, and than buying discounted 5800x3d

Hail to the KING Baby!

Impressive performance. Even more impressive power efficiency.

Why on earth isn’t there a comparison to the 5800x3D on the gaming charts?
data/avatar/default/avatar30.webp
Gaming beast, nothing more to say. Thanks boss @Hilbert Hagedoorn for the review.

really needed a 5800x3D in those charts... and AMD really needs to bring back the 3DNOW! logo for the x3D parts lol

Gaming king. AMD back on top. Waiting for next round. That performance/watt is crazy. With current electricity prices its worth to consider

Having seen some 5800X3D benches elsewhere, this just proves the 5800X3D was the best CPU released in the last decade, and if you have one, I don't see a reason to upgrade yet. If you're on a budget, the 13600K is actually a better overall choice imo. The 7800X3D certainly makes the other X3Ds look silly though.

Still on the to-do list. I am fighting time with health-related matters. We'll likely make a 7800X3D "versus" article

Having read the review and been very impressed, I now feel the shape of these processors is beginning to grow on me. If only they came black polished by default. πŸ™„:D

It's so much faster than a 5800x3D that the 5800x3D literally fell off of the benchmark charts!

That chart is correct, but once you set over PBO -30 on 5800X3D to all cores it's on par with 7800X3D Package Power. (92/97 W with Dead Space? wtf, nonsense πŸ™„)

Gets me to wonder how much lower the 7800X3D's wattage would get with the same treatment. It's weird to think about how you could have all-around the best gaming CPU that runs cool enough to be nearly silent on a budget tower HSF.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted out boss...

On the subject of "future proofing" in terms of which CPU to get between 7800X3D / 7900X3D / 7950X3D, I can totally understand that more cores equals more future proofing to a good extent, but I'm wondering if that future proofing would really scale in terms of gaming workloads when more than 8 cores / 16 threads are usable by the game - because isn't the 3D cache only most accessible to the CCX that it sits on, or am I wrong about that? And if the 3Dcache is not particularly accessible by the other CCX then wouldn't that cause the CPU to lose a fair chunk of it's boost in performance that it gets from it's 3D cache? So I'm just wondering just really how future proof the 7900X3D & 7950X3D would be for gaming vs the 7800X3D. I suppose on reflection that if the game really did require more than 8 cores / 16 threads then the 7900X3D & 7950X3D would have an advantage over the 7800X3D even if the 3D cache couldn't be used as efficiently by the other CCX. I think it's probably worth spending $200 more and getting the 7950X3D, which gives you twice the number of cores at only 55% more expense, that's if you know you're not a person that constantly updates their CPU with each architecture. 7950X3D is $44 per core 7900X3D is $50 per core 7800X3D is $56 per core But performance doesn't scale linearly with number of cores, and certainly not if the max TDP is being reached in your workload as I'm assuming the CPUs with more cores will be throttling to lower Mhz vs the 7800X3D, so the ratio of value per core is not quite as simple as I outlined above. If the gaming workloads that can use all those cores in the future stay below the TDP then that would be quite easy to predict, but if a game is maxing out all cores on all 3 of those CPUs then it won't be staying within the TDP, at least not on the 7950X3D and 7900X3D. I'd still probably just pay $200 more and get the 7950X3D if I know I'm keeping it for 5yrs or so.

My 5800x3d loves the Peerless Assassin πŸ˜› There are some other reviews out now and the 5800x3d holds up quite nicely in the gaming comparisons. I also agree, the 5800x3d was historic for gaming and anyone with an AM4 platform should give it a hard look before building a new gaming pc. One day I'll have maybe the 7800x3d but more likely the 9800x3d πŸ™‚

Yeah you are still paying a premium for a MOBO and DDR5 but as the x3d cant be OCed you dont need a top end board anyway.
