Great conclusion. SSDs need to win the capacity war now, not speed... they are already fast enough and have been fast enough for quite a while ! Even a 2-lane NVMe drive ( topping at 1.8 GB/s ) is fast enough for any home computer.

We can't see a difference between the drives because Microsoft hasn't released Direct Storage yet so the software is limiting the real potential transfer speed . I am referring to games loading times of course.
