Dip that chip 😉

Yeah, this could actually work with a big fan on top of that heatsink.

Just put a Noctua 120mm on it. Solved.

Putting a fan on it kind of defeats the purpose of it being passively cooled...

Not putting a fan on it makes it a pretty bad choice. With a fan on it, this would be one of the best 1650 out there. Depends on what you want.

If you want one with a fan, just buy a fan cooled SKU of the card. Even basic single fan versions from say Zotac don't really get that hot under load, really aren't going to gain anything from this expect spending more money.

How? It performs just as well as other 1650s, and makes no noise. For those who want a silent 1080p gaming rig, this is a good option.

Heat.

Heat.
Max temp for the 1650 is 92c per Nvidia specsheet. Max this reached was 80c.

I don't think I was talking to you, correct me if I'm wrong. If I was, I would point out that reaching 80C under load on a card that usually runs under 60C is not ideal. You see, I said without a fan, it's a bad choice. Some dude said how. I said heat. I can't make it any simpler for you.

The attitude isn't needed, this is a public forum after all. Anyone can comment considering that. And again, max temp for the 1650 is 92c per Nvidia. This is still under the 92c making it safe. Heat won't kill it under that temperature.

That's 80C under 100% load. I think for normal usage it would be around 65-70C

Meta, please keep things friendly okay? I understand the world is in a bad state and that it has an effect on how people behave, but much like the other thread irritating people is not what we need. Let this place be something positive. Okay?

No worries. That vbetts dude seems to have piped up under a lot of my comments recently, trying to start something. He's going on my ignore list from now on. All good. EDIT: where the hell is the ignore button lol?

Or you can get faster part and have better cooling on demand while remaining fully passive when not needed. As per Hilbert: The card itself is 100% inaudible which is great. Reality also dictates that 98% of the actively cooled cards available all also are passive up-to a GPU temperature of 60 Degrees C. And once you go above that threshold, on AIB card some cooling kicks in (which lately has been very silent as well). So with that in mind the KalmX seems to have a bit of a limited target demographic. Fully passive just does not have appeal as it used to when you can fiddle with fans and TDP yourself Heck I bet I can stop my GPU fans all together, underclock or power limit and still get better temps and better performance due to having larger sink than the one on 1650 CalmX.

Attaching a fan will increase the heat 😉

Look above^^ Heat does not kill. High temperature does. Heat is an extensive property and thus a poor measure of how close to death you're pushing your GPU. Hence Nvidia quoting temperature (92C).

Just that dog. Attaching a fan will increase the heat. While additionally lowering your GPU temp.
