Oh i did not expect it today!!!

I wonder why the Witcher is such a powerful title for the 2080 Ti compared to every other title in the line up. Strange 🙂
Well performing card - hope to see it actually in sales and at a close price to the MSRP.

WOW... I did not expect THAT. Because Nvidia said "same" as 2080Ti, so I fully expected 5-10% lower than that. AT LAUNCH at least.
This is literally 2080 Ti performance or a tad higher.
Me neither. whas going on

Pleasantly surprised!

I am also surprised to see this as well. Considering it is less than 2 days from launch.
Very good performance. I am thinking of getting either a 3070 or a 3060 Ti.

2080ti like performance is expected. Now lets see if anyone can find one.

Here Witcher III is only barely faster on RTX 2080Ti.
Hilbert: link removed let's not make this thread a spamfest of links please, thanks. Likely WIII is scene related.

This is what basically happens when you max out everything in 4k and Doom eternal is the worst case scenario where 8gb vram isnt enough.

https://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/1949-witcher-3-texture-quality-comparison-vram-and-fps where you see no impact in performance based on texture quality, which would make some amount of sense that there would be a difference if it was performant impactful - certainly speedwise.
Just odd if the Witcher 3 is the only title that is memory bandwidth sensitive.
Let's not make those 8 vs 10 vs 20gb conspiracies the norm. How does that explain the lack of such massive gaps between other cards with lower amounts of vram?
Further, Gamers Nexus made this Kool64
DLSS is very promising. Hopefully the cards will be purchasable

Actually Fender178 could have something there, a lot of textures to load up in Witcher maybe?

Same memory config, same bandwidth as 2070 Super, but cca 35-40% faster. Should I be impressed, or does 2070S come with too much bandwidth?

Dam, it did worse than the rtx 2080 in The witcher 3

Very nice for $500, but I have a feeling this one will be wrecked by the competition's offerings.
In performance per price, the year-old 5700XT is already breathing into 3070's neck, and can be found today for about $400 (25% cheaper), while only being 30-35% slower (and same RAM size).
Soooo... I'm not sure Nvidia did -enough- with this card, as it is probably not very hard for AMD to catch up to with with a new gaming-focused architecture (Hint Hint: Consoles)
Jagman
Yeah the 6800 with 12 or 16GB RAM would be more appealing, to me anyway.

Performance wise, this card is good, basically the same as the 2080ti but the price is too high. A 70 series cards should be around 350€, 400€ max, more than 500€ for this is simply too much. Nvidia is pricing some of the GPUs too much, i just hope AMD can deliver with big Navi at reasonable prices.
Also i´m glad Hilbert is advising people against scalpers but i wish he also critized hardware companies when they are pushing prices too high, like Nvidia has been doing in the last generations.
Anyway, great review as always!
