And people expected another 750ti. 😀 Very underwhelming performance with these cards, especially using newer API's. That said, what nvidia has to offer in lower-mid segment? Underpowered 1050ti and 1060 3GB. Meh.

Thanks for the review! No more Witcher III benchmarks? noooooo... Now that pretty much the whole new gen AMD 4xx and Nvidia 10xx lineups have a MSI Gaming X variant, could you maybe make a review comparing all MSI Gaming X cards together Hilbert? I find that reference cards not always that representative of what we'll actually be buying, and MSI has proven to put out reliable products that would give good insight of what the new VGA cards are capable of once a AIB has done it's magic on them. I benchmarked it, but forget to include them. Added now. I will also add the shootout overview with all AIB card included for quick comparison.

So in my opinion Nvidia just shot them self in the foot with these cards. No reason to buy at all, cant even play games at 1080P unless the engine is optimized and no option to SLI.
Yeah, looks like nVidia sh*t the bed at this segment, frankly speaking it's a mess... No real generational improvements have been made.

Nice review as always. A little sad to see no dota2/csgo/overwatch benchmark however. For a small gaming PC or light gaming PC it will be a good card, the 1050ti is definitely shaping out to be the next 750ti. 1050 seems rather useless as it will struggle to keep low games at 1080p good details so you might as well run them with a skylake integrated gpu.

Great review, so much information. Thank you HH. With the $10 price reduction, the 470 has a huge gap. 1050/460 trade blows. Will be interesting to see the "actual" price these cards end up selling at.

the GTX1050Ti is less expensive than GTX950 in MSI i wasn't expected that so it's still more economic and more powerfull than RX460 sadly for AMD, here the RX470 fight in price with GTX1060 3g (same price) so i predict same success as the gtx950 for small budget PC 🙂

Wonder if we will see a full polaris 10 card? 465/460x perhaps?

Their segment is to beat 460. 1050 is a good 10-15% faster than the 460 while being the same price. 1050Ti is supposed to cover the middle ground. 1060 3GB beats the 470 so that's covered already. So what exactly is your point? Do you not understand what those cards are targeted at? With your reasoning, the 460 470 and 480 are all underpowered and meh.

So where is the 750Ti? The 1050Ti is the successor to the 750Ti and yet it's absent from your charts.
PcWorld's review includes the 750Ti for comparison purposes.
The $110 GTX 1050 outperforms the older GTX 750 Ti by an average of 34.44 percent across our games suite at Medium graphics, hitting at least 50 frames per second in everything but Ashes of the Singularity. It’s a worthwhile upgrade. The $140 GTX 1050 Ti beats last-gen’s more potent GTX 950 by an average of 25.95 percent—a modest, but still sizeable leap made all the more impressive because the GTX 1050 Ti is powered wholly through your motherboard.

I believe HH has said as much before, but Guru3D isn't really an entry level site to begin with. No active member here is going to build a gaming PC with a card like these. Some might install one in an HTPC or similar, but this review wasn't about such use. In that sense HH reviewing these cards is kind of nothing but completing the whole set in my opinion. Of course it also makes people feel better when their mid-range card isn't resting at the very bottom of the charts...

Except in most of the games, the 460 is faster then the 1050. And at times near the the 1050ti. And even seen the RX 470 pushing ground near the 1060 3GB while the 480 pulled ahead of the 1060 6GB. Nvidia is a joke in the budget realm anymore. Still a 1050ti, will be an upgrade for my GTX 650ti 1GB in my game stream server. Their cards suck in new apis.

No it's not. https://tpucdn.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1050_Ti_Gaming_X/images/perfrel_2560_1440.png And no NV does not suck in new APIs. Basing your opinion on a few poor console ports? Gears of War 4 is a good example of an optimized game
A couple fps faster than the 960 (or my 950 with oc) in Witcher 3, blows my mind.
The 1050ti is 30% faster than the 950, while the 1050 is 10% while being $60 cheaper. What are you expecting? Titan x performance for $100?

IMO the 1050 and 1050Ti are both completely pointless graphics cards. If you're a gamer you'll know from past benchmarks that the gaming cards are 1060, 1070, 1080, Titan XP for this generation. Anything lower than the 1060 and you just won't get those nice +60 frames per second. Some might argue that these cards are for gamers on a budget. I disagree. There's a name for people who want to game on a budget - they're called Console Gamers. Might as well just buy an XboxOne or PS4 if you don't want to shell out for gaming PC that can actually give you a decent gaming experience.

My 380 is better. Good to know!

People are comparing the 1050/ti to the wrong cards. It goes up against the RX460 where it handily kicks its butt.

The Ti should have been priced about $30 less, and the regular about $20 less.

Agent-A01 noticed it, and it's true. Nvidia released 4 GPUs covering everything from laptops to supercomputers, while AMD released 2 GPUs and is picking up budget market leftovers. RX 460 is in such a bad spot that in order to check 1050 Ti, AMD has to use chip almost twice the area of GP107(1050/Ti), albeit cut and decently faster(RX 470).
data/avatar/default/avatar37.webp
On budget RX 470 4GB or Gtx 1060 3 GB are best buy. Gtx 1050 TI is no no,the cut of shaders/CUDAs is too damn high.
Thats what I said long ago. Too damn cut. I doubt Nvidia even cares about selling this 1050/Ti on desktop. Its there just to serve mobile market and workstations.

One thing to remember is this market would include the huge business price sensitive-side market for office PC's running apps like Word, Excel, etc... They are going to select the lowest priced, most efficient card capable of running these apps.
