I'm amazed how positive spin some people can take on this CPU - it is a travesty! With such power consumption who would even consider it for gaming over AMD, when it doesn't even win all the time, and for other programs it doesn't win always either nor is that much faster, bur for some individual programs I can see the appeal.
The next screenshot from Hardware Unboxed's video review paints the whole picture:

When it comes to CPU sales, does anybody have any idea what % are sold to gamers and what % to every other user.
If gamers account for a lesser percentage then that will account for AMDs strategy in releasing the X3D variant later.
Its common on a specialist forum for everybody to think that an industry in general revolves around that specialist thing.
I wouldn't be surprised if sales to gamers accounts for a small portion of all CPU's sold globally.

13900k and a 4090 paired together are close to 800 watts under load. And that's just for the gpu and cpu by themselves.

Everything else I've read today shows that the 13900K max power draw is at least 100W higher than the max draw of the 7950X! My God...well, the really great thing about the 13900k is that we should never hear anything else detrimental about the 7950X's power draw of 230W (TDP & SP)! I don't see why anyone should be surprised, looking at the inferior CPU manufacturing process Intel has to use at the moment. Didn't surprise me.
I can't agree with HH that this is "somewhat similar" to what we saw with the 7950X--as 100W+ higher is not "similar" at all...;) I just don't see it. Rather, it should serve to put things into perspective for most people, I think.

The question is does that much of power really neccesary for gaming?I think thats true waste of money u can spend extra cash on the gpu.

Is this the part where I type in "laughs in 5800X3D"?

When i bought my 5800X there was no mention of a future X3D chip.
If i would of had prior knowledge about this gaming monster then i would of never bothered to buy the 5800X in the first place. Now i own both and AMD won out.
I'm good for now so not too bothered about any of the new stuff including 4090 7000 Series and this 13900k. If i was in for a AM5 system this time i'd 100% wait for the X3D chip.
So no wonder why 7000 is not selling that well.

So can we use 4 sticks of memory on Intels newest platform at the high speeds yet and have they fixed the bending problems with the socket yet too? Iām just asking questions , as if I had an opportunity to buy new hardware.

People are arguing over figures.
If anybody played a game on both an AMD rig and an Intel rig using the fastest of each, but didnt know what rig was what, they would have to guess.
In real world gaming you cant tell the difference between the two.
