How many numbers are cursed? 😀 Wasn't it the same reason why Microsoft skipped Windows 9? Wait. It's launching on January 9? That's not good. 🙂

I was looking at the 1TB MX300, more than happy to wait until Jan though 🙂

Any idea how much the 2TB ones will cost?

Any info on the write endurance?
Yes, I just retrieved that info and added it to the news item.

Why no 275 and 750 options? These were ideal with MX300. And seem to be no U.2 support for 2.5'' drives.

275GB MX300 did well with up to 2,5 PB written data on 3DNews tests. Just slightly under 850 EVO. This series supposed to be better.

No. They skipped Windows 9 because of Windows 9x. To avoid mishmash.

I was wondering why I managed to pick up a 1TB mx300 for pretty cheap yesterday. I shouldn't order stuff tired.

Would be nice to see prices some down a bit faster.....

I also don't understand the aversion to thirteen in the west - IMO, both superstitions are stupid.
The belief that the number 13 is some how tainted or linked to evil pre-dates "western culture" and seems to be related to Religious and Norse lore and events surrounding a 13th guest at a celebration where that 13th guest was responsible for death and/or mischief/chaos/anarchy. http://www.history.com/news/ask-history/whats-so-unlucky-about-the-number-13
D3M1G0D:

As an Asian, I've never understood the taboo around the number four (it supposedly means death, but it's just a number as far as I'm concerned).
From here: http://www.history.com/news/ask-history/whats-so-unlucky-about-the-number-13
But in much of East and Southeast Asia, where tetraphobia is the norm, you’d be hard-pressed to find much use of the number 4 in private or public life, thanks to similar sounds for the Chinese language (and Chinese-influenced linguistic sub-groups) words for “four” and “death.”
Seems like it'd more a concern of being misunderstood than an actual fear.

Seems a bit weird that the m.2 has similar read/write speeds as the 2.5 inch, yet Samsung m.2 are several times faster. Guess Crucial are just offering m.2 form factor but cheaper?

Why create tables when all the figures are exactly the same? Just state the figures once.

Couple of weeks ago, I decided to bite the bullet, and buy a Crucial 2TB SSD for my gaming drive. Man...what a huge difference on load times, even with my previous drive being a hybrid.

Samsung's newer M.2 drives are NVMe whereas the MX500 is just an SATA drive adapted to M.2.

Looks like it is. And that's why no U.2 support. Lack of NVMe is a significant disadvantage. Wonder if Micron 1300 series will be NVMe to compete with 850 EVO.

MX500 is in stock in Norway! @ komplett.no Looks like to be a killercombo with Intel Optane 32GB 🙂 Happy Cristmas Hilbert, and all other guru's 😀

Bought one last night off Amazon UK for £233, thats a bucket load less than SCAN and OCUK are selling the M300 1TB for.

Wonder if there will be a m.2 version with these speeds. I already have 3 sata SSD and 1 m.2 960 evo. I still have a gen2 m.2 slot open and this would make a damn good game drive for the price.

Just think of the differences between the SataIII SSDs and an M.2, where the only cap is the speed of the PCIe bus...;) Next stops for me are 1-2 M.2's...!

But the price of NVE m.2 1TB drives makes me hurt. It was $115 for my 250GB 960 evo NVE m.2. But my god is it so much faster then my OCZ Arch 100 240GB i was using. 480mb read vs 3000+mb read now for my OS drive.

Loophole35:

Keep an eye out for the intel 600p the 1TB can be had for under $300 some times. It’s not nearly as gas write as the 960 but it’s read speeds and latency are all close to the 960. It’s a perfect game drive. BTW the write speeds are still faster than SATA3 850EVO speeds. Really a great drive for the money. So is the WD black M.2.
I only see the WD black in 512GB max. Shame. Next SSD I will buy will be a 1TB. But I am getting a $1k monitor first, then Vega 64, then a 1TB SSD. I really want a 48:1 49 inch 144hz ultrawide.
