Ironically enough, these cards are priced at the same level top tier cards were 20 years ago. I pulled up my old order of an ASUS GF4 4600Ti and was surprised to find I bought it for the exact same amount cards are going for now (adjusted for inflation, of course).

"AMD massively is missing some sort of DLSS though, and that will always give GeForce RTX cards an edge."
I was happy to see that non-feature missing.

I'd like to upgrade to a RX6800 or RTX3070, probably the RX6800 as I haven't used AMD since the ATI 4870.
But first I'm going to wait to have some Kraken G12 alternative. After 6 years of using a "silent" GPU. I'm not going to put a video card that in full load in summer, is noisier than any other case FAN.
Currently my case fans are 140mm Noctua with Low Noise Adaptor, that cap at 1200 RPM. And at 1200 RPM I don't really like how noisy they become. But still they are more quiet than a GPU cooler fan.
If anybody knows about a Kraken G10/G12 alternative (without jumping into an expensive custom loop), please let me know

Holy hell.
6800xt is my next gpu.
Great work HH.

Imho very poor raytracing performance, and considering that every raytracing game also includes DLSS (missing comparative benchmark, but its ok if you dont want to show amd getting his ass kicked using this technology)
But thanks amd, this will force nvidia to lower their prices, i want to get a 3080 or Ti next year.
And thanks HH!

The card seems to fall off at higher resolutions a bit more than you'd expect any tech gurus care to enlighten us a bit?:)
I love the card and the fact most RT games support AMDs tech is a nice win also, the first bench i looked at was rdr2 and it was right there on top surely we'll see a green price reduction (next year when they're available lol)
Can't wait till 3900xt review waw!:D

Just 50-70€ off would make it even more attractive.

Great review and a great reference design on the card (I really, really like it). I'm glad AMD is back in the game in the GPU department as well and I'm looking forward to see how this will perform paired with the new 5000 series CPUs, and if the boost from the symbiosis is as good as it's said to be. Great year for hardware, not so much for actually getting your hands on the said hardware though. 🙄

Very happy with both cards from AMD. I am impressed with the general gaming performance, the decent release drivers delivering top tier framerates, impressive thermals, but also Blender OpenCL nipping on the heels of CUDA cards is bloody impressive.
I know what I am buying.

you're not getting it.probably.
was gonna order a 6800 but damn,2900pln.hell no
6800xt is out of the question too,3250pln.My 3080 was 3280pln and all things considered it's a better card with an exception of a few games at lower resolutions showing the 6800xt in front by a fraction.Meanwhile MS FS 6800xt loses by 25% and RT performance is all over the place, can beat a 3070 and match a 2080.no dlss.
my point - the prices should be 2900 for the XT and 2400 for the 6800.
are you positive that you're getting the average not an odd example ? it's not that far from a 3080 on avg. but 3090 hell no.

perhaps they could shave off some memory from the 6800 pro make it 8gb and drop the price under $500. That would be the absolute sweet spot if they could.

it's not there yet in 4K but in 1080p woaw it's close or better than a 3080-3090 when AMD was alway "one step below" in earlier gens, incredible
about Guru3D review setup :
on one hand it's great for me who games on a 9900K I know exactly what the gpu alone will change (a lot coming from a 1080ti, double the fps/score in many titles or benchmarks)
on the other hand I'm curious to see what the "perfect combo" Ryzen 5xxx + RD 6xxx does
thanks for the great reviews as usual
edit : techpowerup has a SAM test with a 6800XT and 5900X...don't bother it changes very little you gain 3-7fps, it doesn't magically make the cards better than the 3080 where it was worse

Great stuff, I remember when I said it will rock and people said it will be another flop like before.
AMD really didn't disappoint this time around 😀

6800XT is right on the RTX 3080’s heals at 4K. Will be cool to see what the 6900 can do
