I agree, but my main point is - you buy this 200GE over 2200G? 20-30$ difference and performance wise, well, you cant even compare them. (also, I was cynical about intels IGP, I don't think they are crappy, they serve their purpose very well. They come free as a bonus) Now if you make a new AMD laptop with ryzen and dont use one with APU, you will have to use dedicated gpu or a mobo with gfx. All this increases, well, everything. And 2200G (I have one) isn't really very cool or power efficient enough to be used in laptop.

For me it is the 35w TDP, i work with very silent PC but once home this silent isn't enough silent (it's for that i use the WC with the cooler and pump in the closet 🙂 ) and with this 35w you have relatively good normal CPU. With this TDP you can build an HTPC with totaly passive cooling where you only hear VRM 🙂 About intel IGP i was thinking what i have writen as i have one 🙂 with the technology they have they could do better.

Should sell really well for people running accounting software or the likes that run even on old Pentium 4's. Thinking of building one for my mother that does exactly that. It is either this or some 2nd hand brand name PC(old HP/Dell etc.) and I would definitely prefer the new one.

So being on CCX, the memory speed is not going to matter so much anyways. It would help on apps that require that bandwidth still, but normal every day to day stuff you would not notice.
I think the amount of CCXs affects latency, but I wasn't aware it affected memory bandwidth. Maybe I'm mistaken though. Either way, the GPU is still going to starve for memory bandwidth, as relatively weak as it may be. But as you said, for everyday stuff, it'll be just fine.

ARM has performance to be extracted which is not bad at all. But it is easier to get to it on CPU with fewer cores. Main weakness of ARM is software compatibility.
At this point, software compatibility is no longer an issue for ARM. Windows 10 for ARM has an x86 compatibility layer (albeit, slow), ARM is very well supported under Linux, and most applications the average person wants nowadays runs on Android or iOS. However, ARM does still have 2 main problems: 1. The architecture scales up horribly. The higher you push the clocks, the more inefficient it becomes. But... x86 also scales down horribly. If you have an ARM CPU of a "normal" clock speed like 1.6Ghz or lower, good luck trying to get an x86 to outperform it in performance-per-watt, especially when idle (which is very important). This is why Intel had to drop out of the phone market - they couldn't make something with reasonable performance at a reasonable wattage, but that's what ARM specializes in. 2. It's RISC, so some programs natively ported to ARM are still going to run much slower.

I bought one of these from the IT department where I work, just to play around with. I happened to have an idle MSI B350, and 2 X 4Gb of 2666 RAM collecting dust. I have no plans to employ the iGPU, but rather, pair it up with an orphaned 2Gb RX 460 a co-worker gave me. Something to do on a snowy January evening. It will eventually go to my neighbor's children; they could use a 2nd PC. I'll give it a spin with some recent, but not too recent, games. I suspect it will be fine with something like Tomb Raider (2013).
