If they put prices back to normal they would probably sell more.

They declined because GPU's don't even sell at MSRP, at least in my country.
Not to mention the overall pumped inflation of prices.
Drop GPU prices, sales will increase.

Time to increase prices again 🙄

Prices through the roof, mining demand collapsed, sales decline significantly.

Shouldn't be a surprise by now...

Surely this isn't just about gaming PCs with video cards (like we use). During the pandemic, many people were spending their entertainment money on home entertainment options (like a new PC). Many started working from home (good time for a new PC). The demand for PCs had never been higher but it is was completely unsustainable growth.

Nvidia sales dept: boss, our sales are down 35%, what should we do?
Jensen: Increase prices 35% to make up for it.

Nvidia has no incentive to drop prices, because their Data Centre division is picking up all the slack. They seem content to ride this out and wait for another demand surge, whenever and wherever it may come from. And we all know AMD doesn't really care about its GPU division, so long as it's not losing money. Ironically, Intel might save us after all.

I don't disagree, I'm just musing what I think their mindset is at the moment. They're looking at their Data Center sales, they see strong demand in the nascent AI sector, so they've decided to increase prices and reduce supply to artificially keep the equilibrium price higher for the time being. Worst case scenario they will lower prices for the next generation and earn some goodwill alongside strong sales from people who have been holding out. I dread the best case scenario.

Gaming hardware these days is a byproduct of professional hardware.
It's kept running to pay for R&D costs.
Now they want to run AI and chatbots instead of mining.
(Pretty much the same, except that AI / chatbots are run by server farms, not silly single GPU cards bought for mining, so even more expensive compared to a server.)
And Intel, as the savior? Wow @mackintosh that's very optimistic 😀
They are just in because they didn't dare to no go through with it, hoping to get a piece of the big cake as well, gaming GPUs are a byproduct as well for them I'd say.
All in all, there is no hope. So rechoice, and look into the abyss.

Of course there's a decline in GPU and CPU sales. Motherboard and GPU manufacturer's are taking the p*ss with extortionate pricing.

It's going to be a long wait for all the ppl that think Nvidia will have to lower prices because of gaming GPU's "not selling".....

New games are also becoming too demanding. They require $$$ hardware to play.
I think people are turning away from PC gaming altogether. They are turning to other media options or just not gaming.
So many uninspiring games of late. (My opinion)
Undying
Good let the sales drop even further. No one should be buying these overpriced cards.
900eur for a 4070ti, nvidia has lost its mind.

If you increase prices when demand drops, then the end-game of that is that they'll try and make the full revenue from just one GPU sale. So an RTX 8000 series GPU will cost billions of dollars :P
