venturi:

I have 6, 4 are regular Titan V and 2 are 32GB CEO edition. I am curious because I have been able to use mine for both research (AI/DL/ML in medical imaging), Nuc Med, and normal home stuffm gaming etc. I am able to do mGPU and 4 Way SLI (auto-diff-SLI) as well as compute/cuda (I am also the guy that enabled 4 way SLI on the Pascal and RTX series cads and wrote the how-to). My curiosity is based on how rankings are on a comparison. Since the Titan XP was listed, I figured the same class of card from recent releases would be listed. Seemed a valid question.... Here is my personal rig configured using 4 of the cards I'll be glad to provide a factual review. Asus c621e sage 2x Xeon 8180M 768GB of ram LRDIMM 4x Titan V including Titan V CEO ed 32GB 960pro nvme (OS) 10x SSD Raid - 4TB each SSD (Apps and Backup 8x 2x) 1600W PSU (digital) noiseless MS 2019 Data Center, Ubuntu P1 miniITX case
Wow, overkill, I don't even know the parts that are included in that rig! I suppose you could send your GPUs to Hilbert for review! (bit late in the day now though probably)

I feel like I'm hijacking this thread so I will curb it after this. no, not overkill if you knew what i use the rig for. now back to the 5700 review...

I think this will be my next card. All depends if my friend upgrades to a new card. He will give me his XFX Vega 64 silver edition for like $100-$150. That would be an upgrade over my RX 480s.

It's a breast. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I want the XT version. I really hope these are available in my neck of the woods.

Is possible that these can be shunt modded the same way that nvidia 10 series cards could be done to bypass the tdp limits?

Maybe he did it on purpose. We all know boobs are great. 😀

Was thinking more along the lines of a Freudian (nip)slip. 😀

Hahaha. Bloody predictive txt. I didn't even notice what I'd written. I would edit it, but i think it's just better left alone.

Is it better to buy rtx2060s or 5700/5700xt this year? Gpu will be sold next year anyway and rtx 3080 or amd equivalent bought. Worried about Amd's high temps. both cpu and gpu...
5700xt is the best out of three. It offers similiar performance as 2070S and i would not worry about temps.

Out of those I'd look at the 5700 or an XT model. They are cheaper or the same price but better performing. AMD have said temps are not an issue and i believe them. Also if you are only keeping it for a year, temps wouldn't matter anyway.

Thanks Hilbert for the review, it was actually lucky they sent you the non XT as this is the first standard 5700 with AIB cooling I have seen, and I am interested in buying the 5700 for my 2560x1600 60Hz Dell 30 inch which still has my old 970 driving it. Seems a good card, I will wait for all the 5700's with AIB cooling and see where they all sit price wise after the initial flurry of pricing. Something for Christmas at about equivalent USD of 330-360 region would be fine for me. I am sure prices will come down a bit. The temp and power use is not really an issue, but a nice sound level like that would be great, that card is really quiet ! Once again thanks for putting up the comprehensive review so quickly.

Well if you're worried about AMD's high temps, you should be even more worried about Intel's high temps O.o

Temp are not high on this particular card. We are talking about 70 Celsius range while playing games which is easily manageable. I had gpus in the past both from ATI and nVidia running in the 80-90 Celsius range while playing. Don't forget AMD gpus report two temps. The normal one and the hot spot one. I guess anything under 100 Celcius should be fine for the hot spot?

Just pre-ordered the XT version. Upgrading from an RX 570. I hope it can play older games.

The 5700 XT Red Devil is total Vapoureware it's not available anywhere in Europe or Australia so a complete joke TBH. I know it's down to the AIB's but AMD can't really afford this kind of screw up. By all accounts there are NO AIB cards available to buy in the UK. Pre-orders are going back to 16/09 WTF. Total clustr**ck if you ask me.

Yea it's the same story in Canada too they where listed out of stock pretty well.

In my neck of the woods, I'm surprised at the response of the normally nVidia-centric forumers here, many are buying the 5700/5700 XT's. The few shops that do carry them (in the local tech mall here) have had their stock of the cards sold out within a day or two. A popular one is Sapphire cards with the 'Pulse' moniker, some are inquiring about PC 'Red Devil' too, I'm intrigued as well......but with a VEGA64 Red Devil in my rig, I'm holding out for big Navi with hardware capable RT......and it's gotta be a Red Devil.

I'd quite like to buy an AMD card for a change, but I'm caught in the trap of a Gsync monitor! And I gotta give it at least one more GPU upgrade before I can justify buying a new monitor. AMD aren't that compelling with their products at the moment, I suppose a Freesync monitor is cheaper than a Gsync version, so there is that string to the bow, but Gsync is technically a little better than freesync anyway so it kind of balances out a little. I wanna see what the NVidia 3xxx are gonna be like.

I get that, sorta like Apple, once you're entrenched in the eco-system, it's kinda hard to move to another. As for myself, I've always tried to support AMD due to their use of open source software, and to some extend, hardware as well. An AMD GPU will never get Gsync support on a Gsync monitor, but Freesync monitors can support Gsync. I have a Freesync monitor in the Acer XR341CK and a Freesync 2 monitor in the LC49HG90DMEXXS, so I guess I can do both AMD and nVidia cards (IF I choose to go that route). Right now, I'm hoping that AMD gets NAVI 21 and 23 right, with robust RT support and at least 2080 Ti level in non-RT games. I'm willing to wait, and my monitors are ever so ready for 'em. 😎
