i really do not see any point in this drag race when I see the single queue random access being stack at 60-85mb/s

Came here to say the same, its pitiful. Most peoples need for speed is game load times, which fast SATA SSDs are not much slower at. I have PCIE 3.0 nvme drives and dont desire PCIE 4.0 and now PCIE 5.0 because, whats the point spending more or 'upgrading'? Even if I had a mobo that could take faster SSDs I would stick with what I have.

That's why I went with SATA for my gaming PC - load times are hardly slower but I saved a lot of money.

The question is how fast will it be when the SLC cache is used. I really wish we had ssd that were not cache based, like we used to have on MLC, to see how fast their NAD/controller really is, not the SLC cache.

Sustained transfer tests will show that.

AMD already stated the current nvmes are not fast enough for smart access storage.

Yeah, the price of progress but its not really here yet. When it takes off my priorities may change. Thats another reason to avoid buying anything atm unless you really need it.
