sure, but i knew about the potential issue with the plug way before those cards came out, and there's enough cases with e.g. vertical mounts and/or offering enough space so that you don't even have to bend any cable in the first place.

That's how I have it and so far I haven't had any problems.
I put a gpu support under the connector for more security.

ug, if connector is made correctly it should not be bendable in the actual connection. picture show there is connector litterly with IN the connection of holder which should imbe impossible less the connect was was made to small to point it was to flexable and easily giggle/moveable in the connection.
None of this would really be issue if nvidia didnt make issue out no where by want to make new "pin" for power

Why make an ugly 90 degree adapter when the socket itself could be mounted 90 degrees?

I’ll worry when the reports get into the thousands.

nvidia can take their comment and..... let's just say a 4090 rog strix would not be a pleasant experience
this is one of the reason that I hate reviewers and their dumb test benches which aren't real pcs, nvidia clearly test the same way
or they would have learned complaining that people bend a cable that is physically incompatible with 99.99% of market cases is not a valid defense
my lian li xl is on the larger size most case are mid-small towers, completely unacceptable go on your knees and beg nvidia
I'll make a prayer that AMD made a miracle with their next gpu and destroy nvidia in sales
@brogadget : considering the backplate of a maxed 350+ watts used for several hours is closer to 80°C than 60°C not surpising the cable is that hot, I burned a finger on a 1080ti@310w before going liquid cooled, it's a video of buildzoid complaining about gpu heating memory sticks and making them unstable at high frequencies that made me touch the backplate and immediately regret it
something not often talked about but that you can kind of guess watching builzoid videos is that the area near the connector has all the power circuitry for the gpu, all your "watts" go through there before reaching the gpu which means the connector side also gets hot
if it comes to that I'll cut my adapters and redo a cable with thick full wire myself, it's not like I'm an electronician...oh wait.....

This is really bad for Nvidia - you need to provide a product as safe as possible - with so many type of cases out here how could they not see this - at least put a warning on the box...

From the picture the cable seems to be bent "the wrong way" - and being an Asus it is already prone to melting & fire:p

LMFAO....WHERE, there was a handful released on launch day and have been completely unavailable since. I want the Strix 4090, not in stock anywhere and ive been checking every day for weeks.
