I'm still spoiled by 2.5.1. I know I need to try some later versions of DLSS but the IQ is extremely close to or better than native with some titles. Looking forward to trying this out with Ray Reconstruction. Lot's of cool software headed our way in the coming months.

Looks like it will coincide with gamescom event, specifically Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty new trailer

Nice, i'm so looking forward to CP2077 Phantom Liberty

2.5.1 is the best overall DLSS version, its just drag/drop/forget about it. I use it in all my games.

I wish every game would have DLSS. good to see progress!

Only available on the new 4000 super.... For only 200$ more than the previous version.;)

Of course... since it's the one selling point of this generation of GPUs anyway... besides the 4090 ofc.

got any comparisons? I just update all my games to the latest .dll when a new one comes out. Some games dont like you changing the file though if they have a strict anticheat.

Progress, nice 🙂

The official Nvidia blog says it works on all RTX GPUs - which is really nice.. but it is kind of sad that the first thing I thought was it was going to be locked behind some arbitrary hardware requirement. In the video there seems to be some tradeoffs: https://i.imgur.com/7pdpMU7.png You're obviously gaining some occlusion on the debris floor objects but it looks like it wipes the white texture off the red retaining wall in the middle of the image. I think I still prefer the occlusion if I have to make the trade but hopefully issues like this will be worked out.

So this neural reconstruction is an extension of DLSS upscaling. Looks like it can't be used alone, for now.

Used alone for what?

I think he's saying that if you turn DLSS upscaling on it automatically turns on this "Ray Reconstruction" mode - they aren't independent? Not really sure how this is being integrated - like if you're able take this new DLL and put it in older games or not and get any perceived quality benefit.

It seems you cant enable it on native resolution like frame generation becouse its a part of dlss2 upscaling as Owen explained.

It will use Ray Reconstruction instead of the internal denoisers developers provide with a game. I guess it will depend on whether developers include a choice to use Ray Reconstruction or internal denoisers as an settings option.
On integration, NVIDIA says that they are going to make Ray Reconstruction as easy to implement with the plugins as it is to implement Super Resolution. The developers only need to switch off internal denoisers since the information has to be passed on to the DLSS AI model. So that sounds good from an integration standpoint and we can expect even more RR-enhanced titles in the year ahead. ... Coming to support and the good news is that NVIDIA will be offering DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction support across all RTX GPUs starting with the RTX 20 series and going up to RTX 30 and RTX 40 GPUs. The DLSS 3.5 framework will also include the existing Super Resolution, DLAA, and Frame Generation technologies which are supported across their own specific GPU generation.

NVIDIA is so ahead of their game, it's insane. AMD has pretty much come to a stand still, even Intel is making faster progress with ARC lately.

I think not, because guy said something about much more input data from game engine for this version of DLSS.

Actually Intel's mindset is similar to Nvidia and is working on something similar but doesn't do away with denoisers completely.

5060 will be slower than the 4060 but advertised as 4x faster using Ultra Leather Jacket DLSS Sigma 3.14159 in a scenario that doesn't actually exist. Don't you want that sweet new path tracing that doesn't actually path trace and looks like ass? You must buy the RTX 5K series. "The incredible RTX 5060 3.5GB Edition starts at $1500 USD MSRP, take it or leave it, plebeians." - Jensen Huang Thank you leather demon, very cool.
