it was an ATI sponsored game. of course AMD failed another intelligent sponsorship occasion.

And the GPU card is greatly customised too (but the stock cooler... on other hand it's from NVidia itself lol)

That sponsorship ended long ago and currently amd is on the reduction in size on their GPU department cutting costs and downsizing I doubt they would do anything like that any time soon.

I meant the RTX performance on the 4080 for HL2. Can it push 4KRTRT native or will need DLSS?

It was running better on ATI cards back then same as Far Cry. Nvidia had the Doom 3 sponsored.

I think i must have played it on a Hercules 3D Prophet 9800 Pro at the time.

on nvida geforce far cry 1 was fallbacking to opengl until the SM3 patch

I had a 6600GT at the time it was only 128mb vram (damn you nvidia you never change) 😀
ATI X800/X850 ware faster even with SM2 they didnt support SM3 like 6800GT/Ultra.

Too bad though, 5080 cards will be here in probably 3 months so I wouldnt buy now, unfortunate timing.
