If it turns out to be true, 50"8"0 is the worst joke ever from nVidia.
Never ever in their entire history the 2nd place part is cut down less than 50% than their flagship.
With AMD exiting the high end, the next couple of years will be complete absolute milking from the monopoly company Omni Consumer Products... I'm sorry, from nVidia Corp.

Nah thx.
Not trusting those shitty power connectors.

Now if Nvidia tries to price the 5080 low enough, maybe at 4080s level and at the same time having more performance then the 4090, 5080 could be a nice buy. I don't even want to think how will they price 5090, around 3000 dolars maybe. And the sad thing is that they will still sell it.

Alas, I have never smoked, so I can't quit smoking and use the saved money to buy a graphics cards.

Didnโt realize there was a keynote. Oh, thatโs right, there wasnโt.

Alright, like I said in another thread, assuming this guy is finally right (he was wrong in all his previous Blackwell leaks), then this means that Nvidia is positioning the 5090 as a workstation-first GPU and intends it to be used as an entry level AI-whatever-else-you-do-on-it accelerator. You buy it to make money first and foremost. Gaming is a byproduct. It's much like a Threadripper in that regard, with the difference being it actually tops the charts in both.
The 5080 on the other hand is the gamer's GPU and looking at the specs it will provide slightly better than 4090 gameplay.
Both make perfect sense in light of AMD abdicating the top end and focusing on the midrange. This is exactly what happens when there's no competition.

"RTX 5090 maintains a thermal design power (TDP) of 600 watts, indicating efficient power management relative to its computational power. This balance of high memory bandwidth and efficient power usage underscores NVIDIA's focus on delivering powerful yet manageable GPU solutions."
that's the most underwhelming description of upcoming blackwell gpu when it comes to efficiency, 600W is not efficient by any way of imagination, people ! no matter how much memory they plastered there and how many cores, that is no way efficient to consume twice the normal high-end videocards did a couple of generations ago and should be unacceptable to even entertain the idea of having this product !
why intel or amd dont do this, well you know why, there is no point to have a freakin' component, ONLY one in the whole PC to consume more than 90% of all the other components.
That's why nvidia has stopped being a REASONABLE company that produces gpu with this abonimation.

What makes me sad is that the 5070 will definitely not have 16GB VRAM, if the 5080 has it...

Was the text in the article generated by AI? I sure hope so, because its so extremely bland I cant believe its written by a conscious human.
On the other hand, it mistakes 5090 for 4090 and 5080 for 4080 in several places, so that hints its actually written by a human who just does not even care.
Either way, the article is "incredible"
