well people who care about moving pixels faster on their screens get ready to pay a lot to this company and to electricity companies too ๐Ÿ™‚

If it turns out to be true, 50"8"0 is the worst joke ever from nVidia. Never ever in their entire history the 2nd place part is cut down less than 50% than their flagship. With AMD exiting the high end, the next couple of years will be complete absolute milking from the monopoly company Omni Consumer Products... I'm sorry, from nVidia Corp.

Nah thx. Not trusting those shitty power connectors.

Now if Nvidia tries to price the 5080 low enough, maybe at 4080s level and at the same time having more performance then the 4090, 5080 could be a nice buy. I don't even want to think how will they price 5090, around 3000 dolars maybe. And the sad thing is that they will still sell it.

My electricity bill accounts for 0.73% of my net income 1 Packet of cigarettes a day - ยฃ16 x 365 days = ยฃ5840 or maybe 2 x 5090? So a 5090 is not only good value, its great for your health and bank balance ๐Ÿ˜€:D:D:D:D:D:D

Its the same every time a new GPU gen is released, the same "PC gaming is dead", "They wont sell at that price" and "FU NV im off to consoles". Every time a Porsche 911 is updated, they raise the price %15 and guess what, they still have a waiting list a mile long. People who buy the halo cards of the current and previous generations, will buy the halo card from the next generation. There's peeps on here who will buy because they want to see what the card will do, how it clocks, how they can fiddle with it. There's peeps on here who will buy because they want to take their gaming to the next level and don't want to compromise in their hobby. There's peeps on here who will buy because they want the newest thing for no other reason than its the newest thing. There is no right or wrong, in every aspect of life people pay more or less for a specific thing based on their wants and needs. Me? ive said it before that a 4090 currently maxs out my most played games at 4k/144hz so i doubt il jump on a 5090 unless Eagle Dynamics significantly update the engine in their DCS flight sim or i go VR. 9800x3d platform for sure as that will benefit DCS over my 5800x3d but il probably stick with the 4090, COH3 and Ready or Not (UE5) are fine right now.

Jesus 600W.

Alright, like I said in another thread, assuming this guy is finally right (he was wrong in all his previous Blackwell leaks), then this means that Nvidia is positioning the 5090 as a workstation-first GPU and intends it to be used as an entry level AI-whatever-else-you-do-on-it accelerator. You buy it to make money first and foremost. Gaming is a byproduct. It's much like a Threadripper in that regard, with the difference being it actually tops the charts in both. The 5080 on the other hand is the gamer's GPU and looking at the specs it will provide slightly better than 4090 gameplay. Both make perfect sense in light of AMD abdicating the top end and focusing on the midrange. This is exactly what happens when there's no competition.

BLEH!:

Jesus 600W.
If its a 600w max then its not that much different to the 4090, no need to update a PSU that can currently run a maxed out 4090. Im wondering if the PCB will be same as the 4090, i very much doubt it but it would be nice if 4090 blocks would fit, too much to ask for i suppose.

"RTX 5090 maintains a thermal design power (TDP) of 600 watts, indicating efficient power management relative to its computational power. This balance of high memory bandwidth and efficient power usage underscores NVIDIA's focus on delivering powerful yet manageable GPU solutions." that's the most underwhelming description of upcoming blackwell gpu when it comes to efficiency, 600W is not efficient by any way of imagination, people ! no matter how much memory they plastered there and how many cores, that is no way efficient to consume twice the normal high-end videocards did a couple of generations ago and should be unacceptable to even entertain the idea of having this product ! why intel or amd dont do this, well you know why, there is no point to have a freakin' component, ONLY one in the whole PC to consume more than 90% of all the other components. That's why nvidia has stopped being a REASONABLE company that produces gpu with this abonimation.

What makes me sad is that the 5070 will definitely not have 16GB VRAM, if the 5080 has it...

Also potential undervolting is always an option. My 3070 has a 270 TDP. After undervolting it doesn't go above 190W, and I've "lost" an average of 3-4 frames. As far as I've seen, people managed to nicely "optimise" the 3090 and 4090.

Are you confusing Hilbert's editorial musings with an official Nvidia announcement? No one is marketing the 5090 as such. At least not yet.

Was the text in the article generated by AI? I sure hope so, because its so extremely bland I cant believe its written by a conscious human. On the other hand, it mistakes 5090 for 4090 and 5080 for 4080 in several places, so that hints its actually written by a human who just does not even care. Either way, the article is "incredible"

That's because the 5080 is not a 5080, it's actually a 5060 Ti (or what used to be a 60 Ti class GPU). 3060 Ti is a bit less than half of a 3090, in shader count: 4864 to 10496 , or ~46% 5080 vs 5090: 10752 to 21760, or ~49% Now it's called a "80" ๐Ÿ™„

Well, that's one way of looking at it.
