Videocardz seem to be on a rampage lately. How is their record? GM200-310?? TBH it sounds belivable.

That's exciting!

^ And that makes you think because? From what I saw 780Ti OC's just as much as TitanBlack if not even more, most have more & robust custom VRM circuit..

Will replace my 670 sli setup with one of these 🙂

For some reason I've set my sights on this 980Ti, it sounds like a card that will be future proof for a couple of years at least (And I like the sound of owning a Ti lol)
It does sounds like a nice card But midrange Pascal 14/16nm with HBM2, full DX12, double FP16 through-output and god-knows-what-else should run it into the ground. Without braking a sweat! future proof for couple of years :wanker:

Its funny when guys mention future proofing.. That term doesn't apply to video cards. And its impossible to future proof,or Nvidia and AMD wouldn't do very well. Why would they make a video card that would run a game at max for 4-5 yrs, that makes no sense. Just like why they can't cure the common cold, but they have plenty of meds to keep you going. All those companies would fold. Making money is # 1. Find a product that people have to keep buying and make it. Answer this question... Name a president that died from cancer.

My HTPC was rocking my old 9800 GTX+ from cowie, only reason I upgraded it was because of DX11. GPU wise, the 9800gtx+ is faster than the igpu in the 5800k, but does not fully support DX11. There's still the 4, and 5 series from Nvidia going strong. And even the 5, 6, and 7 series from AMD going strong as well.

5.5GB 980 Ti coming out - good good...

Getting a bit old now don't you think? Only the 970 was affected
Yet still so funny 😯c:

I dunno, there are a few people here with 2+ year old GPUs who are still playing the latest games on decent settings
28nm -> 14/16nm will be a full node jump. Unlike any other in GPU history. It will be so huge they will have to milk it, but they are doing that all the time anyway.

This will be my next graphics card then. I'm finding 4 GB of VRAM limiting in recent games even though I play at 1920x1200 (sometimes I use DSR to force higher resolutions in less demanding games though), especially with lots of AA (including SSAA). 6 GB of VRAM would be very nice, plus the extra performance will come in handy for games such as Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor, Watch_Dogs, GTA V and The Witcher 3, none of which can hold a solid 60 FPS with everything maxed. Even a higher minimum framerate would improve my gaming enjoyment. Don't like SLI (or CrossFireX) so a high-end single GPU card is a must for me for high-quality gaming. I can recover some of the cost of the new card by selling my GTX 980. Sure, I don't really it need it but the extra overhead for demanding games will be very welcome I think. I expect the card will be £500-£550 here in the UK though going by the US price of $700.

I love the escalation from reasonable statement to outright lunacy, speaking of which, they're probably storing the cure to cancer where they store the old equipment they used to fake the moon landing, under a giant statue of our beneficent overlord, lemsip max.

You are putting ideas in my head now. Hmmmm I might do the same.

only 970 is affected , not 980.... So 980 Ti will have 6 Gb (full speed)
Hes using an AMD card, so that explains his trolling.

Assuming that the stats are true, I'm surprised Nvidia would release a card that performs the same as, if not better than the Titan X for cheaper. 6GB is certainly not going to be a hindrance - even with 8xMSAA at UltraHD the only game I know of that would hit that limit is Lords of the Fallen.

They pretty much did with Titan and Titan Black.

You would like sli, been using it since the voodoo days. Pretty much pain free for the most part.
SLi is pain-free and yields good results if you do it correctly from the beginning. Crossfire might not have the most flawless experience but it is generally much more forgiving about mixing and matching. To me, the appeal of multi-GPU setups is giving your rig an extra year or two of life before having to replace everything. There are very few cases where anyone needs 2 high-end GPUs when they were first released. That being said, I think crossfire is a more practical choice, because you can just buy a 2nd or 3rd GPU a few years apart. But, if for example you're trying to go all-out with a 120Hz 4k screen or 2, SLi is a better choice.
Same as my brother says, CF put me off big time, I don't mind hunting down SLI bits, but my last CF experience with the 295X2 was far from good, I was basically left with a 290X in 70-80% of games
I can't speak on behalf of the 295X2, but back when I had 2 HD5750s, it wasn't that hard to force crossfire on unsupported games. Any glitches were easy to fix with some tweaking.

So Titan X users, dont you feel silly? Nvidia pulled this exact same thing not long ago, one should think you'll learned something. 😀

Mine is fine, yours should be, too.

I`ll never go back to CF even without trying SLI I went CF with 2 x 5770s, big fail I went CF with 2 x 6850s, still big fail I went CF with 295X2, years later, still the exact same fail Never bothering with it again, it just doesn't work in anything other than benchmarks really - there are a couple of games where it works, but for a gamer, it's not a viable solution to improve frames (Unless all you do is bench all day) In fact, since moving to Nvidia, I`ll never go back to AMD, the difference is like day and night optimisation wise nVidia have devs on the payroll - not fair for AMD, and if I'm honest, I much prefer AMD as a company, they care about their customers, but because of that, nVidia come out top almost every time
CrossFire here works with ALL games but one I've tried, as far as I remember. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I don't benchmark. Perhaps you did have a bad experience with CF, but some of us have to bet on CF working to get the performance we need, and so far I have zero regrets at 1440p 110Hz.
