Should be more or less in pair with GTX770 that you can find atm for 200-250$. Meh, first time i'm not interested in X60GTX.

128-bit wide memory bus combined with a price of 199 dollars doesn't sound likely to me. 249 dollars as an asking price sounds far fetched. Benchmarks are important to selling in cards in volume. Older nVidia cards and current AMD cards make such a hypothetical offering unappealing. I'm speaking of resolutions of 1080p and above, with MSAA and/or some form of super sampling or upscaling involved. With post processing AA, and restricted to 1080p, I think a 128-bit memory bus could fare quite well in a lot of titles and with great image quality. But the standard suite of benchmarks and settings could make such a card difficult to sell when compared to cards like a R9 270x or a GTX 660/760. And afaik those cards can often be found at a discount that makes them a much superior buy to a 128-bit card. Maybe there's been a game changing development made by nVidia that largely erases the disadvantage of having only a 128-bit memory bus. I really doubt that though.

128bit memory bus, 1 6pin PEG..... So, this thing will OC like crap and perform like crap at stock clocks. I'm having flashbacks to my first 660...... Hopefully AMD brings something more appealing.

I'm very curious about this card but I'll probably hold on to my trusty 760... Maybe wait for the successor of 900 series.

128bit bus...wtf is this 2004 or something?
faster 128bit is more cute than slower 256 or 512bit... it's as in car technology, i have in my track car a nice 1.6 C CM that is far far better than my 2.4 C CM from last year (despite more or less the same HP output). high number is not panacea... only the result matter.

have you seen how low electricity needed to OC the 750Ti or 970/980? one 6pins will be enough even with OC i guess... result in a few days.

Maxwell is super good, this 128 bit will be aided by special algorithm and other stuff that will make perform good, we all see on the 22nd.

The only thing I care about is 1080p (well 1200p) gaming, but I'm still concerned about 2GB VRAM. Most people are saying it should be around the GTX 770 level of performance, which is good I guess since I was looking at that card before.

I bet you think the Jaguar 64 was better than the PS1? 🤓

Well it will be crippled with 128bit once you start applying MSAA and higher reso., no doubt here. I think it will be around 580GTX or 680GTX performance max.

what happened with the 8GB 980 ? wasn't this supposed to be released in November ?
Probably not getting released until AMD pushes the 3XX series cards out the door.

wtf 128bit bus again....

Nvidia sure seems to be dragging the _60 through the mud these days. There was a time when it actually meant something. The 460 was a beast. So was the 560Ti. Now it's just meh, move up to the _70.
I know right? I had a 560 until one month ago. That thing would run dx:hr at ultra (aside from aa, which was down to 2x). I got the exact experience with farcry 4 with my 970, except 1. it rarely went above 70 fps, and 2. with the recent patch my card was struggling to go above 50 fps.. It's pretty enraging to see companies failing create decently optimized games. I'm glad I just got the game as a bundle from the card. I would have been really pissed off had I bought it.

Even the GTX460 786mb had 192 buses.

Hmm... So the best thing to do right now is to enjoy our holiday and wait for guru3d to get their hands on a 960 and review it this Jan.

I cant believe that people are so naive and still talk about the seemingly low bandwidth.. Hast the current 900 series cards thought you anything?

I'm afraid it doesn't shock me at all. We have the same moaning every time, people don't learn. I'm thinking of producing my own graphics card. It will have a raspberry PI for a GPU but a 20000 MB memory bus, I expect to sell millions.

I wish they would hurry up and announce the big maxwell, im sick and tired of seeing all this mid range crap. Nvidia thinking were going to buy it, not a bloody chance.
You cant exactly call 900 series midrange if there is not something significantly better out already...

Buying any gpu over a gtx 960's power level at only 1920x1080 is basically a waste of money. By the time the 960 is too slow for 1080 gaming multiple generations will have passed and u will want a new generation card by then anyways.
That statement is laughable... The same was said of the GTX660, and they struggle to reach 60fps at reasonable settings at 1920x1080 in most games.

Maybe two versions of 960? the 960 standard then 960 Ti? I say this because other places reporting 4GB on 256 bit an some places saying 2GB on 128 bit
