hmm i temped to sell the 680 now and save for the 780, shall i do it? i mean it all rumors(but that how titan started...). do u think i need PCI Express 3.0 cpu as well(haswell)?
moab600
haswell isn't worth upgrade over SB or IVY, but it require new mobo and new psu for the special power modes... i think i might grab cheap ivy. but it won't max the pci express 2.0, i think maxwell can...
Anywho we see soon if the 780 worth it, for some reason GK110 is really temping if it's price wouldn't be so "titan"

770 is gk104 but it gonna be a bit different, ihope they alter the bus at least to 320bit. but that is called 780 😀
I wait for my paycheck then i probably sell the 680 and hopefully those 780 will be at good price and better performance, and if not well 770 here we come 😀

Semi-Accurate (yeah, I know...) claim the 4 GB GTX 770 is 25% faster than a GTX 680 but I'm reading different things about the GTX 780. I've seen a 3 GB GTX 780 with a 384-bit bus mentioned at $500 and that it is only 10% faster than a GTX 680 (which would makes the GTX 770 being 25% faster pure nonsense) and that it will have 5 GB (and a 320-bit bus) and be priced closed to that of the Titan! I've also seen the GTX 770 mentioned as having only 2 GB of VRAM. There's so many rumours and conflicting information that it is probably best to just forget about these cards until NVIDIA officially announce them.
I guess it would make sense for the GTX 780 to have 3 GB given that the leap from 2 GB on the GTX 680 to 5 GB would undoubtedly inflate the price. There again, I wouldn't want my next card to 'only' have 3 GB as I'm already pushing the limits of my GTX 680s' 2 GB of VRAM. 4 GB (or more) would be better, particularly if I decide to move up to a 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 display at some point.

2gb is pointless, i hope for gtx 780 have 4 GB will present 25-30% more performance than 680, not crippled voltages, 320/384 bit. at 500$, this would be a stealer but we c

What a nifty timing these rumors come in. Right now, everyone is saying "wait for GTX770/780". It'd be so amusing if they didn't release the cards at the expected specs, or released nothing.
So, when there comes a sweet time with the prices stabilized, performance up to par, drivers mature, and the 7990 released with its performance, these rumors come in. What a coincidence :bonk:
Who here seriously believes that you would be able to buy a GTX780 5GB for $600 when the Titan in only 7% faster in terms of shader count and costs $1000?
Yeah right...

Blimey, the 780's supposed to cost as much as Titan. 😱

Gino ( Cowie ) last I heard from good sources Titan Ultra is coming + there will be non reference GTX780 coming also ( eg. GTX780 MSI Lightning ,eVGA Classified , Gigabyte Super Overclock series etc...) with beefier VRM and much better custom design PCB , higher clocks , higher overclockability GTX 780 non-reference will be the ones for subzero benching along side Titan Ultra. One of my reference Titans died under cold at a merely 1.35volts due to the poorly made VRM unable to handle volts ,then the other one gave me troubles and it was RMA for a GTX 690 , now i'm on the waiting game again to see where we will en up in terms of overclockability and subzero. In other words Bro let's wait until the dust settle to see where we are going in the overclocking hobbie.

man that sucks chispy you done killed one at low volts
I have only room for custom boards from now on.

if it costs close to titan then it's gg for me, i guess i go Haswell instead.

I think you mean Maxwell. But I'm inclined to agree.
I don't think I will invest in big upgrades this year. I feel that they aren't worth it from my current setup.
2014 Could be a good year to upgrade.
moab600
i meant haswell, as i have two options. either 780 or haswell, they both fitting my price after i sell my old parts, heck i think if i upgrade to either it will not be because i need to, but because new hardware is always a joy(Sandy bridge is way more than enough..)

@ moab600 - Unless you use your PC for things other than games then I'd say a faster graphics card would be a better buy than a Haswell CPU personally. I mean you already have a CPU running at 5 GHz so why waste money on an incremental upgrade? Games rely more on powerful GPUs these days than CPUs.

I'm just hoping they price this new cards better this time around 🙂 , let's cross fingers and wait/hope for the best !
