Wow "smart move nvidia" I think nvidia is being a pain in the a$$ now cause first they introduce the crappy boost then the new drivers are crappy for fermi and maybe geforce 200 series cards cause I can't overclock it like I used to and now this. I think Nvidia is destroying the GPU overclocking era.

Nvidia really likes to use its pimp hand. these and other non ref cards can easily handle the extra voltage, unlike the ref boards nvidia made so whats the real issue here? As for evga you guys know i'm not the biggest fan anymore but i think this may have caught the guys there off guard, thinking that the bases were covered for the no voltage rule with the evbot. Not sure i'd go as far as saying that "Nvidia is destroying the GPU overclocking era" but they sure are adding new rules to the game. Sharpen up those solder skillz boys cus right now it is all we can do as modders As for nv they are going to have to pry my asus DCII from my cold dead hands

Am I right in saying AMD still allow for voltage control to some degree (for example through MSI AB), or has that been nerfed as well?

Does this "no voltage control is allowed"....apply to Afterburner, Precision and nVInspector as well or are we still allowed to use them?

this seems to be saying that the 680 is already a 780, just have to up the voltage? maybe?

It's very possible that GTX780 will be based on, more or less, a "tweaked" version of the same chip (refresh) and not the GK100 that so many keep hoping for.

Rumours saying it'll be GK114 instead of GK110 and that GK110 won't be out for consumers unless they feel the need to. http://wcc ftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-780/ Not much of a source imo.

GK114 would be the refresh of GK104....and would make my post true if GK114 is used for GTX780.

Dont trust the rumor so much, but something is sure, the capacity of computing who was show and even the CC numbers can be crippled. I doubt the GK110 or K20 with 4.5Tflops SP and 1.5DP ( 1:3 DP rate ) annonced will make his way on the gamer scene like it will be on the Professional computing hardware.. ..
lol you change your post so many times :P I was just adding to what Sykozis said. I Don't think anyone is expecting a K20 to use as a GeForce card, if it comes out then it would be a modified version like they did with the Fermi architecture. Like I said it's not much of a source but we'll see what happens, the guessing games are always fun.

Speak for yourself. :P
Would be nice to have that double precision performance :P
