im pretty sure this can't be exploited on windows 10, microsoft locked down write access for things like this on storage and ram.

I do no use over-provisioning, I just leave unallocated space.

Any space unallocated for file system is over provisioning, and since users can configure it (my Samsung SSDs and Magician app offer that) we can`t call it "HW".
Article is about completely theoretical (lab only) attacks.
What is hw over provisioning?

how many brands besides Samsung offer sw to do those changes?
ignoring some drives have higher capacity, with OP not being exposed/cant be changed,
e.g. a 500gb only shows 480gb, and im not talking about the space lost for format/file sys.
