Ha! All these fancy 10gbps wired and 2.6gbps wifi toys... and being stuck at 400/40 Ziggo. Sucks, isn't it ? The only thing I miss in my old country is the bloody fast 1gbps fiber internet for just 10 euro/month. So far, very disappointed of dutch internet. Expensive and slow(ish)

Welcome to Latvia, ass-end of Europe but the internet is great. One of "very few" good things about this country. Such a nice place that even "refugees" don't come here.

Halulam:

(2mb/512mb), so you can reconsider the meaning of the word slow.
My first connection was 14400bps dial-up, so I am aware what "slow" is. But for 2018-2019 anything less than 500mbps is simply unacceptable. Anyone with less (that includes Hilbert or you or me or anyone else) is practically being ripped off. There is no technical reason of not having that speed, it's just the lazy greedy ISP's who aren't investing in upgrading their network. If a company in the "poor" Romania or Latvia is capable of wiring an entire city of 3 million people all with FTTH (fiber-to-the-home), as well as most of the other large cities, then it's certainly possible to do it anywhere in the 1st or 2nd world countries. That includes Australia too. The reason why they aren't doing it comes down to 2 words: "Greedy assholes"
