If you look deep they are probably elitists too. 57% of Steam users still game at 1080p so there is a market for this monitor. 1800R curvature, I believe that means a radius of 1.8m is reference. I think at 1.8m away from the monitor 1080p is probably not that bad. Surely it is catered to some specific market.

Yeah, I can't imagine a monitor needing a curve when it's only 1920x1080 - sure they've increased the size of the monitor above normal 1080p monitors, and that's also a bad thing! Needs higher resolution, and probably could benefit from being a different wider aspect ratio if it wants to take advantage of the curve.

Thanks for that post, I never realised 1800R meant a radius of 1.8m, and I never thought about radius & where the user would sit before. Now I can see you want to sit at a distance of the 'radius point' in order to be equidistant from all surface points on the monitor. 1.8m seems like a large distance to sit away from a monitor though, I sit only about arms length away from my standard sized flat panel 1080p monitor. I see your point about 1080p not looking that bad at 1.8m distance, although I can't imagine sitting that far away from the monitor myself.

No HDR, no 10 or 12bit panel, its a joke. So far no one made a monitor i want to buy, all i want is 4K OLED panel, HDR, gsync and at least 90hz, I can settle for 4K VA/10Bit/HDR 90-120Hz with GSYNC Oh and it has to be 16:9 40 inch

M8, I couldn't see the monitor if it was 1.8m away, only kidding. Having switched to 1440 7 years ago, this sure ain't one for me

Anyone serious about gaming will not use over 1080p. A lot of people still lower settings in competitive gaming. This whole 4k craze is absolutely idiotic and a small market. These same snobs also buy new phones every year because of screen changes. I've got a 27inch 1080p 1ms 144hz monitor and the picture looks good. I have no complaints. For 5 years I used to a 42inch TV at 1080p "90hz" and picture quality was also good. I get tired of hearing "but can't you see the pixels", answer "no".

That depends on what you mean by "serious about gaming" and what distance your screen is at. My face is practically stuck in my monitor so when I had a 27" 1080p monitor side by side with a 27" 1440p one it was a night and day difference. Yes 4K is impossible to currently power within reason, but you can have a perfectly fine (even 160Hz+) experience at 1440p with as little stuttering or issues as 1080p. With 1080p I always would need AA as well which is often almost as much of a hit, if not just as much, to performance as just cranking up the res to 1440p which can sometimes get away without it depending on the art style. Personally I'm still waiting on a high refresh rate 1440p 27"+ HDR monitor which will cost a fortune as I'm almost sure I'll need GSync (up yours nVidia). A real one, and not that nonsense VA panel that didn't cover any of required specs of real HDR by any HDR standard. But I'm going to be waiting a long time since I'm almost positive the upcoming 165Hz HDR monitors will all be 4K.
