No, no, no and no. STOP THIS BEHAVIOUR TOTALLY AND PERMANENTLY.
If one bought the OS, stop bombing them with poop like that. There is no excuse for this and they are again trying to force their desires onto their customers. I hope at some point some regulatory body (and let's be honest, it's not going to be the US gov) steps in to stop advertisements nobody asked for and can't prevent as part of the OS.

This is where a paradigm shift is needed.
For home, personal use, the user must know, choose and use what suits best. Be that ChromeOS, Linux, BSD. We are not talking about software needed for productivity, that's a separate discussion yet linked to the paradigm. Later on that.
For work, well, it's what company policy dictates.No arguments there. But complaints without reaction will lead to nothing.

Bing was the best porn search engine. They ruined that too a couple months ago. Now it's truly useless.

I recently tried edge again, I did not like or hated speed wise, but whole bing intergrated into ugh even after I removed from search engine list it still pops up

As with most crapware , I believe this story begins with the Free To Play, microtransactions, aggressive DRM, softlocks,and anti competitive business practices.

I am fed up with the incessant OS harassment that Windows keeps pushing. If you're on Windows 10, every once in a while, you're bombarded with upgrade prompts, where you have to click through multiple steps. They even alternate the button positions to deceive you into upgrading unintentionally. When using Windows 11, it's a similar story. God forbid you're using a local Windows account instead of a Microsoft account – it will badger you to switch over. If you accidentally open Edge, it won't let you close it without answering a barrage of 20 questions or resorting to Task Manager to force it to close. Microsoft seems to have adopted the best practices of malware websites to ensnare people in their products.
I'm genuinely tired of this nonsense! I would have considered switching to Edge from Chrome if it weren't for issues like this. If I'm willing to use your browser, kindly step aside and let me use it. I don't want to be forced to navigate through a maze of 20 windows just to get it going...
I am especially annoyed with all of this as I end up working on many different systems for my company.

In the past 2days I been remind WHY i hate reinstalling windows.there so much crapware shoved in startmenu is actual funny downloaded the instant your on internet . even funnier is this way worse now then last time I actual did reinstall windows 3 years ago. i actual support windows has not gona full on "free" most apps/programs mobile
Atlest I can pick i anit got internet or keep the system off line while installing to use local account.. I wonder what would happen if MS wont even let windows install if there is no MS account. eh people would probably find way to modify the install so it could. and MS would still try claim account is needed... Sorta like that TPM junk and all other "requirements" they claim are need.
I probably would just left edge as only browser on laptop i just reinstalled windows on if it wasnt for all BS crap just start using

Looks like Microsoft started to act "edgy" lately.
As in life, if you give Microsoft your time and attention, you'll end up suffering.
Just try a change for a while and use another OS. You'll understand what BS you are dealing with, forcefully.
But it ends when the user simply turns to other alternatives.
