Is there a reason behind the name skip?

Will there be Nvidia and AMD drivers made specifically for Windows 10? Are there any changes to the driver model?

I'm seeing zero reason to upgrade from 8.1. Come on Microsoft, if you expect me to pay for your OS show me something good.
Although if rumors are true, it could be free

We can test it tomorrow onwards and it will be updated every now and then too .. can't wait for it to arrive so we can leave 8's stink behind along with the obnoxious flaming it used to cause.

Well I dont like that new start menu one bit, still hope its optional though, will stick with metro win8 look.
Even this new win8 metro look is kinda meh, them extra folders on the left side are kinda pointless :P,. I already have explorer (taskbar) and my documents on desktop, dont really need extra in that metro start on top of it all.

Windows 10..hmm all the same in the end.
Been using their copy paste of start8 since windows 8 launch.

Windows 10 looks like a very ambitious project. Would explain why they are only "looking" at a release date before the end of 2015. Making statements like windows is out of touch with today without backing it up adds up to what is referred to as nothing but fluff, ie. filler.
Instead of auto-detecting when a keyboard is disconnected, the switching should be a user initiated command prior to disconnecting the keyboard. That way nothing funky happens when switching out keyboards.

upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 9 wouldnt have been much, but 7->10, woah 3 full generations of OS upgrade!

Nobody has expected the Spanish Inquisition!
But seriously, these look like some great news. And there's a feature I've been waiting for - windowed WinRT (aka Metro) apps. This means developers will be able to easily (and cheaply) make good looking, fast-performing apps, which can be at low cost ported to Windows phones and tablets.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Sounds good, really good. I already like the fact that I share a lot of stuff between my desktop and nokia lumia phone trough windows 8.1, but this will bring that interconectivity to another level.

As long as old games keep working (same as they did on W7 and W8.1) it should be alright.

This news nearly killed me from laughter.

is this actually going to provide anything for Windows 7 users who have no interest in tiles and use android phones and tables?
Reading that its all about integrating Windows devices into one OS and bringing back the classic start menu which i already have.
