Theres no foreseeable reason to drop Windows 7 support any time within the next 5 years, Vista and XP were dropped simply because they lacked the TLS support needed, and didn't receive SHA2 compatibility.
Very true since Windows 7 is still very usable as an OS on older hardware that may or may not agree with Windows 10.

YMMV, but Windows 10 has been better on all my PCs than Win7, going as far back as Geforce 8/AMD HD 4000 series and Core 2 Quad. And you can apparently still use the Win7 upgrade path for Windows 10. It's not just about DX12 and whatever other improvements Win10 has under the hood either, the Battlefield games showed a big performance gain already with Win8 and its DX11.1 support. And the Spectre tests for Windows 7 shows a huge disadvantage compared to before. I do understand why people with old PCs are hesitant to upgrade though, but anyone who has relatively modern hardware and still plays modern games on Windows 7 is doing oneself a huge disservice

I didn't have a problem with Windows 10 either with an HP LGA 775 core 2 quad PC and I was only using it as a media center. With my statement all I was saying that there are people who have had issues with windows 10 for what ever reason with older hardware or they needed a legacy program that quit working under 10 for whatever reason. Yeah I was hesitant to upgrade to 10 but I am glad that I did because In my mind 10 is so much better than 7.
