pretty sure it's that, had to uninstall it a few months back because it was bugging me to update to the beta, wouldn't surprise me if you left it on then it would auto download w10

I'm wondering if there's any difference on installing this build 10240 now or waiting for the "official" release, seems we can control driver updates now and I'm getting anxious for it now lol

Can one just put the contents of this folder onto a bootable USB stick or DVD and install it from there (if your SSD is too small to hold your old windows and the new and these files, for example)? It looks like it has a boot and an efi/boot folder so perhaps a clean install is also possible with these files.
And is it possible to install now or do we have to wait until official release date?

This got me curious. I had pre-ordered Windows 10 anyway, but I was under the impression you would just get a message saying ok you can download it.
Checked for that directory and its def there, and looking at my network utilization its definitely downloading stuff in the background, doesnt really bother me I guess, but I can see some ppl not being happy about choosing when to download something like this.

How much free space will the upgrade need? Only have about 40gig free

Avoided all this by using gpedit to disable the upgrade to a new version of windows through windows update

Choose 2.
You can stop automatic updates.

Wait wait wait////
Windows 10 Update is automatic and there is no option to set manual?
I always use "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" in Vista>7>8
Is this not possible in Windows 10?
I'm still waiting for Windows 10 to start downloading -__-
It's now 1:54PM on the 29th
