It is a dark day, when Microsoft will not allow people to buy a software product and run it, instead forcing you to pay a subscription charge. Glad I got my MS OFFICE 2021 PROFESSIONAL + MS VISIO before they descended into madness. I really am not liking this 'gym membership' psychology that people in marketing have got, like, everything is a subscription...no one actually buys anything any more, they just pay for the right to temporarily use it.
Agreed. Funny thing is it seems to catching on in the auto industry where people even subscribe to what months to enable "seat heating" or other options, and happily pay extra.

Totally agree. That`s why i keep my copy of Office 2000 in pristine condition, always ready to be installed when it`s necessary.

guess trying the sell the same product every year to the same people stopped being profitable, changing to an exclusively service model certainly solves that problem.

I've been using LibreOffice for years now. No need to bootleg Office anymore, anyways. Let corporate IT folks deal with MS shenanigans.

I'm curious about how these decisions are taken in these big corpo mediums. Are there really people that would argue that Windows or Office are antiquated brands that are no longer recognizable nor useful?
