The sequential write speeds of these SATA/2.5"drives are horrible until you get to the 960GB drives.... The M.2 drives aren't much better. I really expected better from Micron....

What does that have to do with anything? Some of these have slower sequential write speeds than my Crucial M4 64GB that's 7 or 8 years old....

Yes, and these are durability drives aimed at data centers and the like, not consumer(unlike the article headline implies) drives that are typically faster. file:///C:/Users/whokn/Downloads/7300_nvme_ssd_product_brief.pdf AKA, they aren't the MX series, or anything like them.
