i dont really see how one company in china closing is can cause this i very doubtful they produce 50% of worlds need to actual cause price to go up i think more there closing and rest companies that produce this stuff see it as mean to say price hike 🙄
So they want to reduce hdd sales even more ? Except the Nas market and few users that need extra cheap storage... Who else needs em? "Obviously I am not talking about enterprise the segment"
How: Stablebit Drivepool
Why: Reasons and stuff ;-)

p.s. I would add a lot more capacity if HDD manufacturers wouldn't do this sh|t explained in the article every year or so...
Prices have stagnated for 3-4 years now, I bought my first 14 TB HDD with around 250€ in 2019, and guess what, that's where they are today as well (despite several bigger capacities added on top, those are simply... more expensive !)
I bought one of these a couple years back...Good drive/cheap
Yeah, need a lil' bit more than 3TB drives ...
