I had G200-based board back in the day, with passive cooling and even an option for VRAM upgrade via SODIMM.
It was rather unfortunate that Matrox wasted so much time delivering decent OpenCL ICD drivers in a critical period, where a lot of top-tier games used Quake engine for that API.

I had one of these in a dual Pentium Pro machine. Ahh the good ol days. The P Pros were very fast for the day. It's a shame Matrox didn't make it into the next century with Nvidia and AMD(ATI).

I remember Matrox. They were one of the top dogs when it came to GPUs back in the day along with 3dfx etc.

Pfft, relevance my rear end. These chip is just way to old and Matrox has forgotten completely what innovation means. I had a G200 waaaaaaaaay back when if you wanted real performance in your PC you stuck in a G200 and Voodoo 3dfx cards in your computer. 3dfx disappeared, ATI and Nvidia stuck it out. Matrox just got stuck. (ring) pick up the phone Matrox it's the 1990's calling. They want their chip back.
