Just bought a 3090 ti a few weeks ago. I'm good to go for years. Upgraded from a 1070..

Imagine a $400 card which is faster than it... ;-)

Can we expect some info on 4070 and 4080 or the 4090 is all we get this year?

"We’ll get through this over the next few months and go into next year with our new architecture." "I look forward to telling you more about it at GTC next month." Nvidia needs to sell through the overstock of Ampere GPUS. To me this seems like the 4000 series may be pushed back a little. December 2022 or January 2023 maybe? Who knows. This is just my personal opinion. Fast money leads to more problems. Just a few months ago consumers couldn't get a GPU for a decent price. COVID shutdowns that caused manufacturing woes, scalpers, minors, retailers overpricing....you name it! The consumer faced it! Now lo and behold the market is filled with Nvidia and AMD cards they can't seem to get rid of fast enough. Greed and fast money will always cause woes. Retailers all over the world inflated prices. Miners, scalpers and Crypto ruined the market for a time. For those of you that choose to upgrade now from older hardware, if you're happy with your purchase and performance, I'm happy for you. Here in the states, prices are back to acceptable levels. The main argument to wait for the new tech is subjective to the user. Especially if we're talking another 5-6 months. My PC has definitely delivered the Visual, Audio and performance goods. I guess waiting for the 4090 is what I'll have to do. I hope the new CPUS and Motherboards aren't pushed back!

I agree, this does sound to me like they're planning to dump their Ampere stock before introducing Lovelace in volume. Seems like the 4090 will be first out the door and we won't see the rest of the lineup for a while yet. I'm curious what AMD will do in response.

I assume we'll get info on all three but with only 4090/4080 release this year. On the other hand - I'm sure that nVidia will adapt to whatever AMD releases this year.

Especially since most people still play at 1080p. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see next gen gpu's, but buying a 3090/TI is still a good decision now since the scalpers have all gone to hell.

1080p will be standard for most PC gamers for a couple of years longer I suspect. It's just something I've gotten used to. GPU's are always the highest on the list when shopping.

1440p is really getting up there and more popular. I really think everyone should move on from 1080p.

Depends on the monitor size. 17 - 22 is probably the norm for most pc gamers.

24-27" is the norm i think with 24 being 1080p and 27 being 1440p resolution.

True but it`s much easier to change the GPU than to change the monitor.

And easier to drive i understand that but the image quality is so much better that once you try it you cannot go back.

Lol, I tossed my LG 34GN850-B out the moment LG CX 48in was available for purchase 😛

I agree, a good screen is a much better upgrade than a new card but the problem is what to do you the old one? It`s much easier to sell a card than a monitor, but maybe that`s only here in Portugal.

That`s cool but not everyone can do the same.:(

You can use it as a secondary screen 😉
