If Intel produce a card which is optimistically as fast as a 3070 by the end of next year who will be left to buy it?

When I purchased a top of the top range video card it was a little over 1000 dollars, now the top of the top is a little over 3000, thanks miners..

There was already a lot of speculation last year about Intel's discrete desktop gpu. I said then that I highly doubt we'd see it come out this year. To now say it's coming out end of next year, well, it feels like Larrabee 2. Which basically never came out.

Only a brave soul would be an early adopter of Intels first discrete GPU. We would have to see how good driver support is for an extended period (year at least) to get a sense of product worthiness or not.

From what i've seen their igpus today are very well behind nvidia and amd. Xe wont change anything even if its sees the light of day.

Interesting. Wouldn't mind a 3rd competitor on the market. Options and features might become a thing again. It's been years since that was really a thing. Exciting times to experience! Even if it's so much slower than 15 years ago.
I think it's pretty naive to think that if Intel have a 3070 comparable card that they'll sell it at 200$.
