Yes it has some very interesting new features and improved pipeline for better single threaded operations, imo not worth getting Ivybridge now. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6355/intels-haswell-architecture/6

With that system I would probably wait. You would at least need a new motherboard, cpu, and RAM. I list RAM because otherwise you would have to downgrade to 8GB. Probably a much better upgrade in the meantime will be do the HD8970 when it comes out. Going by the information available so far, it looks to be one sweet card! You can then sell of the HD7970, and put that towards a sweet Haswell system.

I think I will wait for Haswell after all, it will be very tough not to give in to temptation though lol And hell no I only just got this HD7970 and its a freaking beast. This card will last me at least another 2 years. May upgrade to crossfire after 1 year when the cards are dirt cheap.
