Hope it works out well. We really DO need a 3rd competitor on the market.

Yep, its got a lot to do with the trickle-down effect. Nvidias strateg involves using higher prices in influencing marketing perception that their cards are 'higher end' or the 'best'. Thats why they are always fanatical about ensuring they have the top performing card with no competition (ie, 2080ti). This will trickle-down to where even their mid and lower end cards benefit from this market perception, even if not justified (ie, RX 570 easily beat anything by Nvidia in that price bracket, yet buyers still went Nvidia).
I really hope Intel and AMD can break this by bringing out their own high end performers to take on the Ti cards and shatter Nvidias hold on this perception.

If Intel can release a reasonably priced GPU that can handle 4K@60FPS (with AA off) I'll most likely buy it. I only have a major gripe with Intel's CPU division; everything else about them I actually like or don't have a problem with.
Intel has traditionally been very good with Linux compatibility so I'm confident they'll do a good job there.
If Intel releases something insufficient, I guess I'm going to wait another couple years until AMD catches up, because I'm not buying Nvidia for myself (that doesn't prevent me from recommending them to others).

Matrox never went anywhere btw guys 😉

Glad to see many gamers are rooting for intel if anything to give nvidia's "reign of terror" a long due break and maybe put an end to it altogether.
I my opinion the highest gaming gpu should not go beyond 600$, i hope a healthy competition will make that happen.

Some performance numbers would be appreciated...

Honestly pretty excited for this. Intel definitely has the capital to make something great, with some key names in their pocket to help.

one hopes this means a paradigm shift in how they handle driver support.

exciting times ahead indeed, will intel's infinite budget allow them to slap nvidia back to the fermi era? hopefully they ignore the mid-low end market so AMD can get their stuff together
