X299 only shines when overclocked. When it is, it's kicking ass π
Stock-clock.net is not my forum π

sorry for the off-topic discusssion, just saying, that subject about electric bills is something I see regularly, in which country or usage scenario is it a problem ?
unless you're mining a currency or have it run 24/24 in a company in which case it's your customers that should pay those bills, in the room I'm working there's 150'000watts, not an exageration, of PCs and electronic hardware running 7/7 365/365 lol
electric bills shouldn't be a concern at least not for private usage because considering the prices of pc HW in Europe (sometimes +50% than in the us) someone who can afford a 3900x or 10x intel cares shouldn't care about energy bills, a 3900x + (apparently the only good x570 board according to derbauer recent VRM measurements) the aorus extreme is 1411$ already for me, add everything else if you build from scratch and we're talking about a 3-4k computer easy, if you have that kind of money to throw in a computer you have enough to pay bills no ? I don't know please tell me in which case it becomes a problem ? I have a friend who does pro photo editing and is processing pictures almost nonstop all week he never mentioned the question of bills, must be a local or specific case problem ?!

I'm a big critic of everything (not only amd) when I pay that kind of money (thousands) I want the best not random garbage at a premium price, and what I see here is not selling me the Intel at all, it better overclock or AMD would get my money

why is 18 core compared to 12 core? and considering the diffrence between the 2 not that big 999$ cpu vs 600$ the more expensive cpu with 4 more core isnt the much faster

A real mixed bag for intel's top chip vs 3900x.Looking forward to guru3d review to put it all into proper context. Would also like to see how those performance figures scale with faster ram for both chips.

I don't understand the number of people talking about overclocking and gaming. This is not a gaming cpu. Anybody that buys something like this for gaming is an idiot. This is for an entirely different market.

Their 8700K smashed the gaming benchmarks even against the 9900K. Not bad for a 2 year old CPU. I bet it's OC to at least 5GHz though, that Cinebench score is not the stock.

I like when people say `Destroying` for a 10-15% difference.
@Hilbert Hagedoorn the article says the 3900x having 50% less cores, the truth is that the intel cpu has 50% core more than the 3900x, but the 3900x has 33% core less than intel.

This is a translation from the guys that wrote the review LAB501 regarding why it was only compared for the moment with AMD 3900X
Okay ... now I have to confess that this article is only a half review. Of course, we tested the Intel Core i9 10980XE and you can see in the following pages what results it gets. Unfortunately, I couldn't compare it directly to an equivalent processor, for several reasons. Thus, AMD Ryzen 9 3950X and AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3rd gen have not been launched yet, Intel Core i9 9980XE has not been tested according to the new methodology, and those at Intel have refused to provide it to us, and the top of the range AMD , The Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX is currently locked in a long-term test by my colleague Matei.
For this reason, we have no graphs with the Intel equivalent model from the previous generation and no results with 2990WX. That is why, I will not comment on each result obtained by Intel Core i9 10980XE, preferring to leave you in the company of graphics. It is true that the Intel Core i9 10980XE performs well, but the difference from the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X is not as great as we would expect, although it has 12 cores and 24 threads, compared to the 18 cores and 36 cores. Execution threads of the Intel monster.
Also, from the common benchmarks it is not difficult to realize that the Intel Core i9 10980XE achieves better results than the Intel Core i9 9980XE, but this is due to the slightly higher boost frequency. Clock per clock, the performance of the Intel Core i9 10980XE is lower, due to the factory-built security patches (Meltdown, etc.).
you can find it on PAGE 3 of the review language is Romanian

The 3950X will destroy this chip.
