Just for gaming of 1440p and 4K, looking at power consumption (system), price, and fps, last gen products like the 12600K / 5800X3D are the winners here in my opinion. Which makes me a bit sad and unexcited about this whole generation of CPUs so far.

and this sadness won´t change until maybe Intel gets back in track with upcoming Intel 4/ Meteor Lake or Intel 3 node processes, catch up, and overcome their problems of getting more cores with higher transistor density, which come from smaller architecture design, onto chips. If it works, again, a high gain in performance/ watt (as far as I know, Intel claims 30-40%) is possible. So maybe Meteor Lake successor let me think about a new Intel system or a move to AMD.

Thanks for the review.This is the best AMD thread yet. Anyway as a PC Gamer I got the 13700KF and it is a fine CPU.

I reapplied my 360 AIO 4 times since yesterday.. i did not do a clean install of windows , i dont know if its needed but i came from a 12700k to the 13700kf... i set tdp to 150 and downclocked cores to 5.1 and e cores to 3.9 lowered vcore to 1.050 and in cpuz stress i hitm 100c and hover around 98c throttling.. ceinebench is 100c ... idle temps are 35c ish ... just in baulders gate 3 i hit 80c or 82c... My pump is running full speed in hwinfo and so are my 10 case fans.

I read your post in the other thread and with 4 re-paste you must have checked the spread of the paste. I would return the 13700 for another one since it is so new. Chipsy giving you advice and asking questions knows his stuff.He is a bonified overclocker and knows PC gear intimately.He can really help you in the other thread,if you answer his questions.It might take some time to figure it out.Hey sometimes you just get a bad CPU.I have bought over a dozen in the last couple years and I got one where it would just not run at any setting,I returned it. Anyway cheap Asus Z690 Board. The thing is I am using default settings nothing special in that video. What I actually changed is Set XMP, my Ram is 5600 then changed ram to 6000 default voltages MCE-Remove all limits P-Core Ratio 55 on all cores E-Core auto Ring Auto CPU Offset voltage - 0.0800 LLC default on Asus it is 4

Well the 12900K was the hottest CPU I ever owned until the 13700.Yes he is on a custom loop but I thought I read he is doing up to 1.4v so he is probably clocking much higher than 5500Mhz. I will go to the thread and read the rest of the thread,I may have missed some post. Anyway I would trust the AMD/Intel engineers to make a CPU that can run all day long at 95°C AMD/100°C Intel before throttle. The CPU's can be tamed even on air cooling for reasonable temperatures. You probably need the ILM, try to look for the Thermalright ILM, cost like 5usd

Well I got the ILM on my 13700kf, temp is pretty tame even with cheap 30usd tower cooler (ID-cooling SE-226-XT), 5.4ghz all-cores 1.2Vcore and peak CPU temp is 70C (room temp 30C) in Spiderman Remastered

There was no thermal test before I installed the ILM, I installed the ILM straight outta the box on the new build. Temp after 5min of CB23 with PL1/PL2 at 150W (peak 80C, avg 76C)

Yes I know you did not test temperatures before hand that is why I asked.Yet sure looks like you made a claim that the dude probably needs the ILM to fix his problems with no evidence of it working for you. I find that strange and your running 4700Mhz on a CPU defaults to 5300Mhz which is fine and I do not want to start some stupid thing in a review thread. I like the 13700KF it is fine CPU and the review has covered what people want to know about the CPU.

PBO tuner , you can set curve from windows , it's only way to "overclock" 5800X3D ,and actually it works amazing.

Lol that's because I set the PL1/PL2 to 150W, which the dude said his 13700kf would reach 100C with the same PL1/PL2. In game my 13700kf would stay at 5.4ghz all-cores (not turbo-boost) all the time since it's not throttled by 150W limit. ILM does help with intel 13th, Der9aur said it would reduce temp by 5-6C, I don't need to provide any anecdotal evidence since it's useless anyways.
