Intel just needed a way of justifying another chipset so u will have to upgrade the mobo again to get pcie4 if they did it now no one would buy a mobo again.

The new consoles have made a big deal about their PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD speeds and how it will change the game experience. Postponing PCIe 4.0 will do Intel no favours in that regard. AMD also had problems with that signal jitter, as I recall. Isn't it also the fundamental reason why there's no genuine chipset in X570, only the frankenchip that requires active cooling?
