Still maintaining an obsolete tech cost to NVidia, and lower (marginaly i agree) performance of the GPU
On other hand even with the price drop, NVidia still cost twice the AMD equivalent product, and RT result are bad on this gen despite better than on AMD, resulting that NVidia high end are still in shop since COVID 2nd wave...
So everything is good to wipe old stock (renaming, rebuild defective as "new" GPU at lower price etc...) and i think it is still a good move.

Desperate move from NVidia, they're doing everything they can just to get rid of the piles of new unsold RTX 3000 series cards on stocks but... But without reducing price for these. Let them choke with it.
Even miners here are so desperate, trying to scam uninformed people here now when they can't do crap with their mining rigs and almost no one here is so desparate enough to buy their GPUs or completely overpriced mining "money machines" 😀 Fey days ago in my town on many places I've found ads on powerline poles or telephone poles with words: "...Do you want extra income? Crypto currencies, buy something that will make money for you even while you sleep!!!....".
One of these ads near my house on powerline pole, hope anyone with enough cash isn't that stupid to fall on this now:
"...Want extra income? Buy a machine that made money every day - Crypro currency - Track your earnings through the application on your phone..."

I don't really see the problem here. The mining craze is basically over, nobody wants 30 series GPUs anymore, people who care enough bypass the limiter anyway, and Nvidia has a lot of stock. Nvidia might as well just make the most of the situation.
The only stupid thing that Nvidia could be pushing for is the obvious: lower prices for the whole lineup below MSRP.

Mining with a GPU has been done at a loss since one week after Eth switch to PoS.
I have no idea why there is any mining done at all, unless those that continue mining are basically getting free electricity from somewhere (or stealing it)
If you look at https://whattomine.com/gpus every single GPU in existence will lose money while mining, and that's calculated at US energy prices. If entering current EU prices of half an euro per KWh, it gets... really sad.

-GTX1050Ti for 186€
-RX6600 for 373€
-RTX3050 for 373€
-GTX1660Ti for 416€
-RX6600XT for 495€
-RTX3060 for 544€
Some faster GPUs are less expensive than some slower GPUs, prices make no sense here at Portugal. Not mining high, but there's no sense on the price scaling.

Their profit margins where 70%+ , now sadly they have to go bellow 70% and they try to cling to em ... So we bitch about it and we do not buy, imagine walking in Walmart and suddenly Walmart that day decided to operate with 70% profit margins on every product .....you will bitch too and when you do I want someone to tell you this !
